A maneuver from the Red Sox Front Office playbook, be sure to disparage the popular traded player as he's out the door. Great way to attract free agents
And what if it's factual?? Which is may be why he and Mayo had words out in the open at camp?

Just because he was popular with the fans just means Judon knows how PR works.. Get into the good graces of the fans so that the Team looks like the bad guy regardless of what the facts are..

I was going to make a similar comment. That said, I think there’s truth here. When folks were commenting about how the team traded the heart of the defense, I had mentioned that while it seems to us outsiders to be the case, I found it curious that Judon was never a captain even though other big name acquisitions in the past who played well on the field were (Rodney, Moss, Hunter Henry). Made me wonder if Judon knew how to play well with the press but wasn’t as loved internally. This tidbit from Breer seems to confirm that. Once a Raven, always a Raven, like Adalius Thomas?

From what I saw in practice, Judon was a great leader. They really should have paid him; with him and possibly a returning Barmore, the defense would be dominant.

It is indeed bad form for the Patriots to leak out disparaging comments about him.

Being unliked by some in his former team ain't exactly a unique situation. The team calling the press to cry that they didn't like him anyway and that he always left the toilet seat up is something else altogether. It just reeks of insecurity emanating from the building. It makes them look worse than whatever they claim about him.

There are parallels here with BB's departure. This type of leak is becoming a trend.

What reeks of insecurity is fans making excuses and dumb comparisons for a guy who seems to have worn out his welcome with the coaching staff. Funny how you're ignoring the fact that He got into it with Mayo (not the other way around).

You and other fans are going claim parallels this and that regardless of what reality is.

You just can't fathom that Judon might have been a problem child inside the building with Covington, Mayo and others.
