Salisbury trade idea for Garoppolo: JG to Texans for JJ Watt AND their #1 pick

Belichick seems to like guys that give his teams lot of trouble ie; Welker and Hogan. Watt has never done anything against a Belichick team.

First off, the Texans are not trading for Jimmy. (Period) For good or bad, they are married to Oswilder and his awful contract for at least another year. IF he still sucks, then BOB and Oswilder will both be shown the door.

If someone was to offer the #23 pick in the draft for Jimmy, I'm sure the Pats would jump on it.

I could see JJ Watt lining up at TE (like Vrabes).
But then I wake up and realize it'll never happen...

Too bad it's not Bill O'Brien's idea of a good trade for Garropolo...Seriously, what are these people thinking? I wish I had a job where I can just throw some crap against the wall and then collect my paycheck.

you know what this team needs? another hof caliber player coming off a back surgery.
He and Gronk could rehab together. It might get dicey if Gronk cuts into JJ's on air time though...

I think the Texans have learned their lesson about spending a bunch of money on an untested young QB by now. They would be in the same situation they were with Brock since Jimmy is a free agent at the end of next year. The difference would be that Jimmy would have a year of experience in their own system instead of with a different team to evaluate. But it's still not an ideal situation for any team to be in which I think dramatically lowers his trade value.

JJ would be a nice addition to any team, anyone saying otherwise then is a total hypocrite.

With that said as a business side of the isle it would be a bad deal because unless JJ takes a huge pay cut it would cripple our cap, that means less money to invest on other positions.

If we get a top 10 pick for JG from any of these teams then we should take the deal asap. It will help us stock pile our draft, it will help us fill those key positions on both sides of the ball. Plus this years draft has many good defenders, you may get 1st round talent on the 2nd round because it's this packed.

Our needs now are an additional safety to take over Chung, then another athletic cover defensive back and of course another pure pass rusher.

On the offensive side of the all we need a bigger center, someone more physical and that can open up our run game a bit.

Also we will need to draft another tight end since I don't see Bennett being here for another year or two, plus he is super banged up. We will need another dynamic tight end to paid with Rob. Right now without Gronk we are kinda thin on that position.

Lastly I think Jacoby will do just fine after being under Brady for another year as a backup.

Is this the new 'Ryan Mallett will get us a first rounder' talk??

Actually, i can see Houston giving us a first rounder, but throwing in Watt is ludicrous
The only reason the Texans would unload Watt is to unload his salary. If that's the case, things can't be looking good with his back. If, on the other hand, things are good with his back there'd be no reason to trade Watt for the likes of Jimmy. The odds of the Texans not knowing what to expect out of Watt seems unlikely, so let's operate from the theory if they were okay with this trade then Watt is damaged goods.

At the same time, the Texans would not have years of salary on the books. If Jimmy works in their system that first year, then they could make the plunge. As it stands, I'd say unloading the whole roster would be the best plan by the Texans. They can't win with a JAG like Brock and they will take a huge cap hit if he is cut. Instead, let the team burn for 2-3 years, unload everyone for draft picks and start fresh in 2019.

Salisbury was fired by ESPN for calling this guy

the crypt keeper.

Honestly, I thought it was kind of a ****ty thing to do, despite the obvious physical similarities, until the Crypt Keeper said this...

So f the Crypt Keeper.

Sean Salisbury throws out not-so-crazy idea of J.J. Watt, Texans’ No. 1 pick for Jimmy Garopollo

I think you guys missed a couple words out of that - here's the actual quote: "Sean Salisbury throws out not-so-crazy idea of J.J. Watt's letterman jacket, Texans’ No. 1 pick for Jimmy Garopollo."
