You're picking the wrong fight there, the comment to which you're responding was posted by a Colts fan.
I think you'll find that most intelligent Pats fans respect Brees and the Saints quite a bit, as do I. On the flip side of that, this Saints team has yet to close out a season at a high level (see last year), so I think it's completely fair to say something like "Great Team, truly a really great QB, but the jury's out." That's how I'd put it, at least.
This board has a tradition of welcoming opposition posters who are polite and well-informed. You seem to be both.
Just remember that you're visiting a board where we measure ourselves and others not by You-tube clips but by Championships.
The Patriots' is a franchise that has been to seven Conference Championship Games and Six Super Bowls, winning three of them. The Pats started out only seven years before the Saints (1960 vs. 1967). So, your lone (losing) trip to the NFCCG after the 2006 Season isn't going to get a lot respect out here until you do something in January to which we can relate. Only the Texans have been to fewer Championship games (0) than have the Saints.
Maybe this is the team to change that; and, if you're in the SB and playing anyone but the Pats, I will probably be cheering for you!
Not even interested in picking a fight or being rude, this is a patriot forum and I am only welcome here as long as they will let me.
The links were to provide a look at our players to the gentlemen that thought moore or henderson were not that good, we dont have the rings or banners. But we have more youtude videos than anyone
didn't know he was a colts fan but then we are not known for being the sharpest tool in the shed down here.
For one we don't have a franchise and probably never will, Saints have one championship in 40 years. As long as Ive been a fan they have had the worst record in football if I remember correctly.
But it has been, all threw those years, one of the most solid fan bases in the NFL, because we just like fun, football, and love our boys no matter what. I actually loved the years of wearing a bag on my head, it was allot of fun and met allot of good people.
I dont know if I would be comfortable with a franchise in N.O. , its just not our way, more of a family here. We'll never be a the greatest team in football, but we do have the the largest heart for our boys. We are not a well defined machine like the Patriots, we are what we are and emotional ball club, I don't think thats going to change.
Take the 2006 season , about 40,000 saints fans showed up to welcome then back, and there were huge parties for the boys for months after that. We were pretty proud they tried so hard. We know the boys want a ring, but I don't think many down here think a ring will make us love the team more.
I think the only thing that bothered anybody about the lose to the Bears was we would have liked them to play better, for themselves, but we understand that Brees just cant play in weather, and thats ok.
Most of us are just here to enjoy the season and playing the Patriots is going to give us a chance to host one of the best teams ever in football and show their fans a good N.O. time. Its just going to be a really fun game.
I think its also important to add that we may not be the best the NFL has to offer, but our saints are trying their best, and that is enough for us.
