I told you that Wolf was staying and that Bob Kraft was and is in charge. Jonathan does not run jack poop over there.

I did not believe that Bob Kraft could pull off firing Mayo and get away with it, but he is.

I hear ya.

I'd pay good money for your takes!

Wolf doesn’t strike me as a guy with an alpha personality. To me he looks like a guy that is well liked by everybody in the organization and has a lot of respect around the league. He isn’t a John Lynch or an Howie Roseman. He is a personel guy at heart.

My opinion is he won’t get fired because I just don’t think he is gonna try to impose his vision to Vrabel and because I think Vrabel has final say.

To me Cowden has been brought on board not to take Wolf job but to help the front office fulfill Vrabel’s vision. Easier to do that with somebody who has already done it than trial and error.

This sounds like a Bobby Grier situation who was later fired.
Cowden was the Titans GM for several months.

He was hired GM on 12/16/22 and gone before the Titans 2023 regular season started. Cowdens is Vrabel's voice up in Krafts castle because as Tedy Bruschi alluded to Bob Kraft has surrounded himself with minions.

I don't the hype over cowden, just looking at the giants they're as bad as we are. Its not like this guy has worked in the front office of the chiefs, philly, baltimore etc. Teams that always seem to be run really well, and stacked with talent
As mentioned by someone else he's only been with the Giants for 2 years. I know Pats fans are like millennials and need instant gratification but that's not how it works.

Just look at the draft they just had and the reviews all say they were one of the best in the league. He was on the staff at Carolina during their successful run in the early 2000s.

Why are there so many Wolf advocates here? He was just as terrible at his job as Mayo, possibly worse. If Belichick had made the picks Wolf made, everyone would be up in arms.
I don’t think that’s really true. Polk was widely viewed as a solid pick at draft time. So was Robinson. Wallace was a little bit of a reach. Baker was seen as good value.

The complaints mainly came later because all of these players did not develop, except Robinson who developed a little. The question becomes whether that’s because they were all secretly ****ty players, and Wolf just had a knack for finding bad players, or if it was because they got ****ty coaching that failed to develop them.

We will know this year when another fleet of picks are drafted and developed under a solid coaching staff, and last year’s picks also get a chance at development under this staff.

Yeah none of it really matters. Vrabel is in charge.

Vrabel worked with Jon Robinson in Tennessee and set the vision of his roster. Robinson worked towards that, although hit issues eventually, with the biggest issue being the AJ Brown trade (which you may be able to blame on the owner for not wishing to pony up on a contract for). Robinson got fired, and Vrabel wanted to tab Cowden to replace him to have a continuance on the same roster-building vision. Owner said F that, I am hiring Ran Carthon and he's gonna follow his own vision. This led to a bad year and Vrabel took the fall. Then Carthon hired "his guy" in Callahan and it was an even worse season. Then Carthon got fired.

So, essentially it will be the same idea here with Cowden following that same vision which Vrabel wanted to follow in Tennessee, but Vrabel will have more control over things going on in the front office than he did there.

Wolf's role will be to work with Cowden to understand and help fulfill that vision. It does not really matter who is "over" who as neither is over Vrabel.

I agree with this. I think the jobs of both Wolf and Cowden will be to get Vrabel the players he wants.

50/50 Wolf is around all of 2025.
IMO, the next tent pole is post-draft….if we want Wolf gone..that is when…after we have used his draft board/scouting reports.

I really hope it's all as smooth as it sounds here and we never see any reports mentioning "Vrabel's camp" or "Cowden's camp" or "Wolf's camp."

If there's one thing we've learned these past few years is that whenever there is a camp there is a fire.

There’s 4 months until the draft, Wolf Cowden, and Vrabel will all be involved in setting up their draft board, and Vrabel will be the one with the final say. Wolf isn’t going to overrule him on the players he wants.

Vice President of Player Personnel would be exactly one slot below Wolf, who is Executive Vice President of Player Personnel.
Agreed. However, it could be a way for Wolf to save face as he won't have anywhere near the authority that he had before Vrabel became HC. In fact, he probably has less in reality.

Charlie Weis sent NEM an autographed pictured
Catching people up on NEM aka AWOM:

Mike Holovak knew my name!
I published a newsletter when Babe Parilli was the QB!
I was a legend on Phoenix sports talk radio!
They need to run more passes and in-cuts!
I met Bob Kraft in Glendale during Super Bowl week and explained this, Bob nodded at me and smiled!

I’m not sure why, but I’m just not concerned with Wolf. Nobody wanted to come to this organization last year. We could have had the Lamborghini of GMs in our front office and it would not have mattered. Guys did not want to come play for Mayo and that coaching staff. Hopefully Wolf can do better with an actual dude at the HC position. Also, Vrabel will have no problem telling him to f***off, which Mayo couldn’t even fathom to do.

Agreed completely. Agents like Wolf but no one wanted to come to MA and pay far higher taxes to live in Foxboro and play for Jerod Mayo. They’ll have much better results with Vrabel and his staff of solid coaches on hand. Vrabel will be able to pitch a real vision of what he wants to achieve and not just random corporate cliches.
