Run don’t walk away from Alabama QBs.

This always amuses me. All people who play the same position at the same college are not at all the same. No other Michigan QBs are like Brady, for example, though I guess Jim Harbaugh wan't bad. Most of them busted, though.

I wanted Justin Fields but was tarred and feathered for even mentioning him. He's 2-0 in a controlled setting in Pittsburgh.
Same here I proposed Fields and Harrison Jr

Fields passing numbers aren’t any better than Jacoby’s.

5’10” 160 lb QB, who knew that was too small?

(Everyone)

You're right. But it's very hard to evaluate when the gap between haves and have nots is so large in college. Alabaman QB's are on one of the 5 most talented teams in college, are going to have offenses that vastly outclass almost every defense they play, and will look great because they play only one or two quality schools that can really make a good go at them before the playoffs.

The QB has to almost be trash to not look good, and Alabama isn't going to ever have a total trash QB on the roster.

We’re getting slightly better production from Brissett against better teams. The Broncos and Falcons are trash, Pitt can keep Fields IMHO

He's 2-0 nuff said and is way better than Jacoby.

His team is 2-0.

Fields isn't much of an upgrade over Jacoby as a passer if he is an upgrade at all. The Steelers offense with Fields is ranked near the bottom of the league in a lot of offensive categories.

Pats also signed Jacoby for free. Would have had to trade for Fields.

I saw Fields throw a dot 40 yds down the field to Pickens but was called back for a hold,

You wanted to trade the #34 overall pick for him.

That was not a good value then, and it is still not a good value now.

- If he performed well he would leave as a free agent.

- If he did not perform well the team just completely wasted a much needed early draft pick.

Although I will give you this, that was not as crazy as Chicago fans believing that they would get the #3 overall pick for Fields.

IF Fields is available for 34 we should be on it.

Just to be clear I am thinking Fields if MH Jr is available @ 3 if we pass we'll be absolute Draft idiots. Also FTR: I would take Justin Fields right now over All Three QB's in this Upcoming Draft all of them have ????. Seems like people forgot about the career night Fields had against us glad Mayo is making the decisions and not some of us Fields is an athletic freak.

The problem with trading for Fields is that you have no guarantee that he won't leave as a free agents 12 months later.

The only way to avoid that would be to work out a big money, long term contract beforehand.

No thank you.

I liked Fields as a reclamation project don't be surprised if he does well in Pittsburgh. I respect Mike Tomlin a lot Fields could do well in that environment a Team that plays tough Defense and Run the Football well. A winning formula in the NFL. Look at Geno Smith who would have thought he would turn out so well.

similar to Cole Strange, it is not Young's fault where he was drafted
Where could he possibly have been drafted and change his fortunes ? I get what you’re saying, but at this point, he’s making a case for NOT being selected at all. With any pick 1 through 223+ …

He looks very well on track to challenge JaMarcus Russell as one of the worst QB #1 draft picks in history.

The dude also looks like a midget on field.
Money is flowing into Vegas that the Panthers will go 0 - 17.

I agree with OP. It is the main reason I didn't want Mac. When you have first round picks and future pro bowlers all over the roster you don't need to be a great quarterback you just need to throw to the guy who is open by 5 yards from your pristine pocket. Mac is basically Ken Dorsey 20 years later.

That same logic could be applied to Michigan, as the only good pro they have produced is Brady.
