Then you're going to like this. One of the reliable tweets stated firmly that Philly is not staying at #24. Now, dunno if that means up or down -- but they're movin. Of course I immediately thought of them leapfrogging that #22 team. :ugh:

Literally! Literally blown out of the room, down the hallway and into the trainers' hot tubs!! The man understands offenses so well, he's a friggin' gale force wind!!!

The personal effect Tebow has on people is amazing. The way he has guys like Wes Bunting falling all over themselves is impressive, verging on creepy. (Step away from the Tebow, Wes...) So I don't think we'll have to worry about whether the Pats should take a flyer on him in the 2nd. Somewhere is a GM who has "gone Bunting," fallen under the spell, and will scoop Tebow up in the 1st.

I would take Tebow in the second, but regardless of what anybody says, he needs years to sit and learn before he can be a rockstar in the NFL. But no one will work harder than him to learn to read defenses and learn all the other finer points. I guarantee it.

I would take Tebow in the second, but regardless of what anybody says, he needs years to sit and learn before he can be a rockstar in the NFL. But no one will work harder than him to learn to read defenses and learn all the other finer points. I guarantee it.

FWIW, I actually do believe Tebow can develop into a good NFL quarterback. I wasn't slamming him, just predicting that his power aura will make him a 1st-round pick.

Why does a team, like Oakland, fly in the face of conventional draft wisdom more often than others, and what players do you think the Cowboys hope are taking off the board before the 27th pick that might leave more options for them at 27?

Rick Gosselin:
There is no universal draft board. There are 32 different draft boards. In my draft research thos draft season, I have one particular player -- a linebacker -- whom NFL teams have slotted in every round of this draft as well as free agent. That's how wide a range the opinions are of some players on the board. Many players have a three-round range, say from late two to high four. Or from mid-five to seven. If all 32 teams were drafting off the same board, this draft would be easy to figure out. But they don't. Some teams prefer size players. Others prefer speed. Others prefer to load up on offense. Others prefer to load up on defense. And the draft boards are stocked to fit the profile, philosophy and preferences of each team. I thought the Raiders reached for Darius Heyward-Bey in the Top 10 last seaosn. But Oakland is a size/speed team that values those traits. Heyward-Bey was the fastest player in the draft so he had greater value on the Oakland draft board.

WHO'S INTERESTED

NFL teams have interest in Alualu as an end in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense.

He flew in for visits with New England, Dallas and Denver.

He even had a test with the Patriots.

After watching film with coaches, Alualu was asked to diagram a play they had just watched and explain each player's positioning and responsibilities.

"That was crazy man," Alualu said. "I had to know where cornerbacks went and what safeties were coming up. I didn't know anything about coverage. If you know all those things it'll help you out. It was a good experience. It all made sense."

How did he do?

"Aw man, I did real good. The (defensive line) coach said I killed it."
