Rumored trade offers for Gronk

Florio seems pretty upset!

Before learning it was just a big joke, he should have just passed on the rumor without giving it any legitimacy by talking about how a WEEI producer and "chances are he heard something."

But yeah, kinda lame to do an April Fool's joke on the 3rd.

Draft choices? Meh....Crap shoot! Player trades make this Gronk game fun.

The Bengals might play. This is pending the Rosenhaus element has been taken care of and retire is off the table.
Gronk would have no problem running over Marvin Lewis to do what he wants like Burflict But he will have FUN.

Package one: A great deal for us would be Geno Atkins ($9.25mm and FA next year) and A.J. Green (two more contract years at $10.55mm and $11.97mm and next year WR prices this is cheap) for Gronk and let's say.......Cooks ($8.4mm this year and he's out)? I think it's pretty fair.

So Cousins, two players with expiring contracts. Two with two more years. Talent match up is fairly close but we will have some that say the Pats would never do this and others , the Bengals would never.

Package two: Carlos Dunlap and pick #21 acquired from the Bills.......O.K. ......one Draft choice for those who think that is proper.

Thoughts? Not terrible?
DW Toys
Any deal with the Bungles must include Carl Lawson.

what a shock, WEEI continues their trend of saying stupid **** with no grounds in reality, and it comes back to bite someone in the ass.

this is what the 4th or 5th time WEEI has ****ed someone/something over this year?

Thats the point. Because the D was so good the offense could be slightly above average and be able to win.

With that said, the were 7th in the league in ppg and 11th in yards. They had more than enough offense to win a SB.

They scored 27 offensive points in the AFCCG. All they needed was one stop and they face the Bears in SB41. If Rodney is out there instead of Eric Alexander they win.
And the would have won that SB easily. The Bears were awful!

That was the year the flu swept through the locker room right before the championship game.

brady takes pay cuts and loses his best receiver ( gronk ), running back, and left tackle??
Unless you know something the rest of us don't, he hasn't taken a pay cut.

I'm done with sports radio.

No. Go to 2:04:42. Fletcher is wide open on horrible coverage by Alexander.

I saw the game.....Alexander was in there because they decided to bench TBC and moved vrabel outside.

Alexander had no business being in there to start with......just another instance of B.B. and his principles taking precedence over actually winning the game

I'm done with sports radio.

I've actually heard sports radio only once, I think. About 20 years ago, on a car trip, when it was the only broadcast with a clear signal for about 15-20 minutes of travel time. As soon as I could get another station clearly, I changed and haven't listened to sports radio since.

But then, too, I haven't watched anything on ESPN, aside from a Pats game, in over a decade.

This is the dilemma of someone who exists for the purpose of “reporting” on the fact that someone else somewhere said something.

TBC played.

...and your statement about BB is absurd

i love how one media guy speculates that Gronk is frustrated and may retire or be traded, then a bunch of other media slugs ride off of that, with "reports from some sources suggest that Gronk may be X, Y and Z"

Its all a huge joke, these guys dont know anything.. just trying to crank up the news cycle during the offseason lull

Little anecdotal story to help shed the mentality on this stuff...

When I was in school for journalism, an investigative reporter teaching multimedia/non linear narrative technique brought in a sports journalist who covered the Cincinnati Reds. At the time, I was considering going into sports but I had a major hangup - and I asked him about it, something to the effect of

"With most sports organizations entirely mum on their activity, as with players, how do you make a career out of this without having to formulate what could be false narratives? As a journalist, it confounds me that there is so much false reporting out there in sports."

He looked at me, didn't answer and moved on. It was that day that I decided to not go into sports journalism.

For the record, I'm aware of the pockets of good sports journalism. I just wanted to hear a professional's input on what is a glaring issue in that sphere of reporting.

Why do people, including many journalists, take rediculous news articles seriously on April fools?

Because it didn't come out on April Fools. WEEI posted it today. Florio (and others) picked up on it, and then someone at WEEI told Florio it was actually a joke.

Thanks for the memories!

That is still the hardest loss for me to get over, 12 years later

Is that called "fake news" ?
