Re: RUMOR: Twitter burning up with Matt Forte to Patriots talk..

We've all been in pissing matches before, they're no fun whatsoever

Unless you're R Kelly

Re: RUMOR: Twitter burning up with Matt Forte to Patriots talk..

I felt his smartass application of the word "sire" pretty much eliminated any real need for niceties.

I thought sire was quite charming.

Jared Allen, and Mike Wallace are in serious talks with the Pats.

Internet messageboards are now burning up about this new rumor because I said so

We all know the potential that Forte could bring here, and that the offense would generally be deemed as unstoppable.

I question whether it would be worth it, based on having to give up multiple high round picks, along with a mega million dollar deal.

It's kind of like the Wallace rumors. Most of us would be quite excited about the possibilities that it would bring, but to me it doesn't sound much like a typical Belichick type move.

Especially in an offseason where defense is our main weakness.

As we all know, anything is possible. It would certainly change the whole perspective of the draft though, as we already don't have any picks past the 4th round--although most of us expect that to change come draft day.

Personally, as tempting as it sounds, I would probably be against it. However there would definitely be a lot of others who are for it too.

Yes, PL. Unless you're R.Kelly.

Word has it that he may be making a comeback with the whole 'trapped in the closet' thing. Just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse.

If Forte ends up a Pat. I can absolutely see one of the firsts become a 2nd and a 7th and then that 2nd become a 3rd and a 6th. I mean if they were to acquire a player of Forte or Wallace's character i can see them snowball picks together rather quickly. So i wouldnt be so sure that its about the picks as much as it would be about the money.

Probably very true that the money would be the larger factor.

RB's are hard to speculate on in terms of contract worth, especially this offseason. A guy with Forte's ability and reputation as one of the top in the game would probably need something in the 9 million+ range though. Probably even more, although I honestly have no idea in terms of his demands. One would guess that he's asking the Bears for a pretty good amount though.

It seems a bit weird that Lovie Smith just stated today that 'everything will work out fine.' And that 'he will rush for a lot of yds for us.'

Forte was the bear offense in 2011, he's very good

See, now I'm mad at you. Knowing full well how good he was, I watched this anyway hoping to see a couple plays I had never seen. Now I'm drooling all over myself. 1:31 people. THAT IS HOW YOU STOP THAT PASS RUSH.

Yeah, the kid has obvious incredible talent. He's certainly a top level RB.

He'd have made a great addition through the draft. Hopefully we may have the next Forte in our grasp already with Vereen, maybe Ridley.

I'm looking forward to seeing what those 2 guys can do here.

Not meaning to compare, as there is none; but the point is that you never know where the next Matt Forte is going to come from.

Re: RUMOR: Twitter burning up with Matt Forte to Patriots talk..

Tom is great at play action, forte at rb would make defenses go looney.

This is just one of those things you doubt until it actually happens.

The smoke is that the bears still have not locked up one of the best rb's in the game and made him play through his rookie deal and signed Bush. That is why this is even being discussed.

I'd like to be surprised.

Yeah, I agree. I think that he has been in the news lately in regards to his unhappiness with the contract situation, and also Lovie Smith's conversation and comments about him today.

That's 2 times in the last 3 days that Forte's situation has been brought up in league circles. That is probably the basis for the rumor today.

There's really only one question left to be answered in this thread.

Who would you rather sign, Matt Forte, or Adam Seward??????????:rocker:
