What an odd post. We don't know what Seattle would have looked like with $20 million less in defense, but we don't have to go there. Had they been missing their pass rush to even out the Broncos missing their top 2 centers and their excellent LT, for example, Manning would have had more time to throw. This would be true whether guys like Avril played poorly or not at all.
Are you suggesting such things don't make a difference? The splits Manning had that game certainly would seem to disagree with you.
Maybe you think that bad first snap was because of Seattle's extra $20 million in spending on defense, and not because of noise/commnication issues?
Maybe you think Harvin's return was somehow because of $20 million spent on Seattle's defense?
Maybe you think QBs who are playing well routinely close their eyes and chuck horribly wounded ducks under pressure, rather than moving to avoid it or taking a sack?
