One ranking says 2, the other says 28... pointing to the uselessness of this exercise
Wendell is a top 5 center? hmmm.
The line is certainly one of the better ones in the league. It's debatable where they fall in the top ten. It's satisfying to see some unofficial recognition though.
Wendell had a hell of a productive year, especially in the run game if I recall correctly.
Wendell's second half of the season was as good as any center in the league, according to the stats on run block efficiency and QB pressure/sacks allowed. Apparently he was very average for the first half.
That would make a lot of sense. As the year progressed and he became more comfortable with what he saw and the blocking assignments, his play showed more success.
Hopefully we see that progression continue.

Belichick is an expert on the position of center, and one needs to be very good at a plethora of traits to be considered a "good" center, especially in a complex system such as this one.
I think it will say quite a lot if we see Wendell continuing to start there, as I would highly imagine that we will. There's definitely a reason why he's there over Connelly, who is actually the weakest link on the entire line.
