And that was not the question in my original post. The question was explicitly what happens, if the chargers beat the chiefs and loose another game. But thanks for explaining, why the chiefs would win the division. Tie breaker rules are confusing.As I said, IF the chargers win out they have the tie breaker over NE. By definition of “winning out,” it means they don’t lose to KC or Baltimore.
So in this scenario the chargers would have the 5 seed, NE would be 1.
To make things more complicated: If the Texans win out, they are also 12-4 and loose the tie breaker against NE. If the Chiefs loose against chargers and seahawks, they will have only 2 Conference losses, compared to Houstons 3 conference losses - chiefs are 2, texans 3. If the chiefs loose against the chargers and raiders, they will also have 3 conference losses. Can they actually drop to 3? Do you have a link to the ESPN calculator for me?
