Rohrwasser cut

Sure. Meyers had a good year. Why couldn’t either one of those two? Johnson was basically the 5th/6th wideout on that Tampa team and was productive in the amount of snaps he got. Peoples-Jones only started two games and hauled in over 300 receiving yards. Both would have had bigger roles here. Especially once Edelman went down.
and who's out of the rotation besides an injured JE11? Byrd? Meyers himself? Narry? Those guys were in place prior to the draft...

so whats the real difference? we going to carry 7-9 receivers on the week 1 roster?

Easily Byrd. Izzo/LaCosse could have hit the bricks too. Would have been a better move than burning a 5th on a kicker who didn’t even play.

Still Jordan Richards was Belichick's worst draft pick ever and there are a lot of candidates for that title.
PFF Reference page for Richards showed that he played in almost every game for every team he's been on in his 6 year NFL career, and has both Selected to Pro Bowl, + First-Team All-Pro on his stats page.

For the first part, it probably means he played mostly on special teams. Not many starts, not many tackles, very few pass deflections, no INTs, no sacks. For a strong safety he wasn’t much of a contributor defensively. Not what you want from someone drafted in the second round.

For the second part, it says that on every player’s page. It’s meant for footnotes. You’ll see there are no asterisks or plus signs on any of his seasons. Whereas someone like Lawyer Milloy has an asterisk in his four Pro Bowl seasons (1998, 1999, 2001, 2002) and a plus next to his All-Pro season (1999).

Byrd single handedly matched their combined production, or nearly so.

It's a crapshoot. Nothing says what a player on team a does means he will achieve or surpass it on another.

To me it's not a big deal bb swung and missed on a kicker in the 5th round of an effed up year.

Nearly a quarter of his total receiving yards came in one game. In the final two games of the season, he had 14 receiving yards COMBINED. Peoples-Jones had roughly half the yards on half the receptions and only started two games. Byrd is now in Arizona

Good players are good players. That’s why no drafted WR in the BB era has ever failed here and gone on elsewhere to have a successful career. It wasn’t the system. It was just that they sucked.

It wouldn’t be as big of a deal had the best kicker in the draft not been on the board, or if there hadn’t been two talented prospects on the board that went right after the K at a position of massive need.

If you're trying to be funny then I applaud your sarcasm. I mean you got a 'useful' tag and a polite explanation of how you could have mistaken Richards for a "first team all-pro." That's impressive work.

A third of Peoples-Jones receiving yards came in one game... and his total of receiving yards were half of what Byrd managed to cobble togther...

Good players are good players? come on, we see it year in year out, guys going to other teams in free agency and they do squat... its one one of the oldest stories in the NFL...

And its not a big deal... its a fifth round draft pick

Your sarcasm detector need an update.

Let me guess. The draft is a crapshoot?
