Hmm, only the Pats huh. So Shawne Merriman didn't get suspended 4 games last season for using roids, or was that "different".

How about the Roided Steelers Dynasty from the 70's and 80's? 5 ex-Steelers players from the Dynasty have admitted to taking steriods, others claim the team "ran on roids". But of course those SB wins aren't tainted.

Or How about when several players of the 2004 Panthers Super Bowl that got implicated in another steroid scandal? Different again, huh?

And lets not forget, Harrison came foward and admitted to using HGH. He wasn't caught, he came forward like a man, he was honest. He made a mistake and owned up too it. Same as BB. He broke a rule, didn't think it was a big deal (I honestly believe him that he was just using it for advanced scouting and NOT for in-game use) but the Goodell told him it was, he listened and is dealing with the punishement.

And the punishment was very severe. $500,000 is a lot of money, and NO team has EVER had their 1st round pick taken away. It is most teams most valuable asset. People are insane.

Teams will do anything to gain an edge. Players take steroids, coaches try to get any info they can on their opponents, be it stealing signals, stealing playbooks, getting info from previous players, stealing laptops, etc. Almost every coach has done it. Coaches/owners find any way to gain so much as an inch. Indy pumps more crowd noise into the PA when the opposing teams offense is on the field, they were accused of purposely turning off the AC during the AFC Championship game last year, etc etc. It has been going on since the day the NFL was founded, and will continue to go on.

We are human, therefore football will always be open to the faults of human beings. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. The sooner you get over it, the better you'll be.

So, Rodney came forward BEFORE his name surfaced on that internet pharmacy list?

Interesting...........

If you want the real truth the ENTIRE league is behind goodell, and ALL of them are sick of BB's games, cheating, and subterfuge.

At the beginning of the year it started with the NFL's new Injury reporting rules that re-define Probable, questionable, doubtful, and out. The key event was when Jim Mora pulled his little trick against the pats. Everyone around the ENTIRE league was laughing their butt off on that one because they all knew that it really pissed BB off. They all saw it as BB getting a taste of his own medicine, and then throwing a temper tantrum.

It continued with the leagues probe into concussions. Specifically the Ted Johnson incident and allegations. The league feels that if anyone hides a concusssion it would be BB....

It then lead to to the current event which is 100% BB's FAULT! Goodell sent out a MEMO to EVERY team at the beginning of the year that SPECIFCALLY outlined the rule of NO CAMERAS ON THE SIDELINE OR IN THE COACHES BOXES!...Connect the Dots. Mangini complained about it, and Goodell gave BB a chance to WALK FREE. He sent the memo to every team, and then posted guys at the first game ready to enforce the rule.

The bottom line is that BB spit in the commisioners face after he gave him a chance to just walk away. This IS BB's Fault. This is Cheating, and it doesn't matter who reports it.

Now for the leak...3 possible conclusions:
1. Before the tape left the JETS stadium some one made a copy: Goodell needs to fine whoever did it.
2. A NFL Employee with access to the tape made a copy and sent it to the media: goodell needs to fine/fire somebody.
3. Goodell decided to punish the patriots and personally gave a copy to his wife: Goodell is Matt millens long lost brother and is now the dumbest person in the NFL thinking that he can give a tape to his wife and no one would ever figure it out.....

I'll take option 1 or 2...

I don't believe BB complained to the public about Mora's antics.

One quick correction, earlier in this thread it was said that the NFL isn't investigating, and it wasn't at the time, but it is now...

MSNBC News Services
Updated: 12:49 p.m. ET Sept 19, 2007

The NFL is investigating how a copy of the infamous Patriots' spy tape of Jets signals landed in the hands of Fox television, which aired it on its NFL pregame show on Sunday, according to an ESPN report.

"We don't know how it happened and we're obviously not happy about it," Greg Aiello, the league's senior vice president of communications, told ESPN.

Which Jim Mora? The Falcons coach? Was this in the '05 season when they played in Atlanta, because I don't remember this.

Anyone who uses the injury report, which is essentially the NFL's gift to Vegas, as a source of moral high ground is delusional. The injury report is a joke.

If it's such a joke, then why does BB hide injuries like they are nuclear launch codes?

Probably because he doesn't think it's anyone in the NFL's business much less Vegas bookmakers.

You didn't answer my question.

And that my friend is why he cheated, and why he got caught.

League rules say you have to disclose injuries, just like league rules say you cannot videotape coaches. If BB thinks that it's none of the leagues buisness, then he needs to go out and campaign a rules change. But until then, rules are rules whether you like them or not.

And yeah i'm talking bout the falcons game where vick was listed as probable and the sat before the game was downgraded to questionable and ended up not playing at all. Schaub came in, played a great game, but the patriots rallied together and pulled off a nice win... The next week BB messed with the injury reports.

Exactly, he messed with the injury reports. Rather than whining like a little ***** to the league office, he thought "...hmmm, I can use this to my advantage..." And, being smarter then Mora, he's done a better job with it.

LOL!!! no you don'y get it... Mora did it because BB had been messing with the reports for years. So he gave BB a taste of his own medicine (Cheating). After all of this the league cracked down on the injury reports. and rather than trusting the coaches they forced them all to open the first 30 min. of practice to see he was really participating. BB is still pissed about that.

BB didn't CHEAT when messing with the injury list, he was working within the rules. Just like there was no rule against what the Dolphins did to the Pats with stealing signals through sound. There was no rule against either action, ergo, not cheating.

Keep *****ing though, you might come up with something.

It's called protecting your players so that injury isn't targeted by the opposition. Why is the NFL so adament about being specfic when it comes to injuries?

BB cares about his players. The NFL cares about the product. The media needs something to report, the NFL needs to stay in the news and relevent.

That and the Vegas angle should tell you all you need to know where the NFL stands on caring about it's employees.

...

I'm with you on most of that Welker. BB bascially said "screw this" to the memo and natually the memo-writer (Goodell) took exception to it and returned a "screw you" back. Who told or complained is irrelavant.
BB put himself and the team in that position. All on him.

On to "Cheating." I don't consider a breaking a rule as always "cheating" and I don't like the way the story has been reported. The rule is against videotaping, not against stealing signs. If they were videotaping the other team's socks, that would be a violation of the rule. They can LOOK at the socks, but that's it. They can look at the other coaches and do everything to get the signs - not cheating. Lipreading (see Shanahan), making written and audio notes, snapshots -all ok, but it becomes "cheating" when you use videotape..to do the same thing.

Tell me they were giving Brady signals up to the line of scrimage within 15 seconds through a non-approved channel/Freq and I'll call that cheating.

Bah ha ha ha ha! I'm QUITE sure I've been working longer than you have.

3 tainted Super Bowls.....enjoy your legacy.

Enjoy the fact you think mature people take baseless taunts on internet message boards seriously. Pretty obvious you have no life.

HAHAHAHA

Tainted Super Bowls.......all three of them......you will go down in NFL history as a team of cheaters........as it should be.......

Ok "whammer jammer". Do you feel better now? Pounding your chest behind your computer screen? You really showed us!!!!

What a joke, haha.

I'm sure 3 weeks in the summer seems like forever to a 13 year old. Now, run along, troll, before someone reports you to the truant officer.

I notice you had my posts deleted.......poor Cheatriots apologists, can't take the truth about their cheating coach and team. Class organization my ass.

If you have something factual or an interesting point, you'd probably be able to have your posts stick, if you're just going to come in flaming, well, off you go then.

I didn't have your posts deleted. Maybe you should take the hint about it, though.
