In that context, I think "a football decision" needs to be defined.

Shes not picking players during the draft or telling people who to sign as a FA so let's relax.
Well it seems some in here have her negotiating contracts with players, so not everyone is on board with what you just said.

C'mon man she surely knows her way around the office

and can hold her own.

Qualified for what? Handling the legal aspects of player contracts? Absolutely.

But she is most certainly not qualified to do the duties of an NFL General Manager. I have an advanced degree or two myself, would you be cool with them naming me the GM?
She’s not the freakin’ GM. People need to slow their roll.

According to some in here, she will be taking on one of the main responsibilities of the GM. My hope is that those people are incorrect. If, however, they are right, then people are going to need their rolls to go even faster.

Go find one person on any of the other 31 teams that picks the players that holds a title with “Football Business” in it. They are all either General Managers, President/VP/EVP or Director of Football OPERATIONS or PLAYER PERSONNEL as far as I have seen. None of them are business managers…

If you mean she is negotiating player contracts, I am most certainly not ok with that. That is the GM's job.

Now, if she's just responsible for the clerical work behind such contracts, then I am fine. But I have zero faith in this person to cover the job of an NFL General Manager and negotiate with players and their agents.
Too late. That ship sailed years ago, when she was Team Counsel for the Patriots. This was written in 2017, ten years after they hired her:

We aren't talking about the other 31 teams in here. We are talking about the New England Patriots.

Um, your post supports what I said, not contradicts it. I said I would be fine if she was responsible for the clerical work behind player contracts. That's exactly what it means when the above paragraph said "drafting player contracts".

Drafting =/= Negotiating

Maybe, but only after you work directly for the team owner for 17 years.

Meanwhile, what are the duties of an NFL GM that she is “most certainly not qualified to do”, and what’s your basis for making that call?

Negotiating with players and their agents. (FWIW, I do not agree with the individual in here who it seems interpreted that would be one of her job duties but we are speaking hypothetically for the time being...)
and what’s your basis for making that call?
The basis is that based on what we know, she has zero experience in football operations.

Do you disagree with me? If so, what is your basis that she is currently qualified to take on one of the single most important responsibilities of an NFL General Manager?

adds credence to this from wickersham

"senior vice president of business affairs for the Kraft Group, Robyn Glaser, would chat with staff off to the side, asking why the head coach had made certain decisions. The subtext of the conversations was that life .. might be different soon."

This franchise is now officially ****ed.

I'm not against a role/person like this on the staff... to help Mayo with finance/deals of free agency, etc.

But for her to be the first person named - before anyone in the actual front office/personnel dept... like GM.
That's a bit concerning. I'm getting the sense this organization will experience a season of chaos without the rudder in BB having been so predictable and stable for 24 years.
