Robert Kraft's Press Conference

Then I can assume they had a chance to use their own system. See how that works?
I see how it works, but the area scouts, the people that see far more of the prospect than anyone in the front office, were using the old grading system. Do you see how that works?

Another year of complete suckitude is on deck. Welcome to the Billy Sullivan years, folks. Were the players won despite the owner/GM.
Relax and enjoy the win from yesterday. I wouldn't get worked up over the front office just yet. Assuming it's Vrabel, he will have his folks in there. No way he takes the gig without his guy in charge of the front office. He lived it and he wants nothing to do with that. And he has enough leverage, IMO, to get that concession, if not by the Pats by another organization.

It maybe time to admit the Krafts are average owners at best. Going back to the Parcells debacle the week before the Superbowl with Greenbay... Lets not forget them letting Brady walk away instead of giving a declining BB the boot.. Brady is THE only reason this team was competitive. I know we had other good players ,but lets be real.

The Glaser stuff is a HUGE witch hunt. I have yet to see any reason to think she is responsible for anything of consequence... She seems to be the Kraft family personal assistant/attorney and that is about it.
It's just interesting that BB mentioned 3 people by name as the ones calling the shots, Bob, Jonathan, and Robyn. He doubled down and seemed to make it an emphasis.

Whatever was implied by that emphasis is beyond me but there's a story behind it.

Then I am out on Vrabel. Seriously. Why can't you bring guys from Philly, or SF, or KC etc. You don't bring guys in that were part of dumpster fires in other orgs.
Judging talent by association doesn’t work. Someone working under a success doesn’t deserve credit for their success not for someone working for a bad boss make them bad.
Arguably you learn more from working for an idiot than a genius because you see mistakes while you may not understand the genius’ thinking.

Name dropped Glaser as calling the shots alongside Robert and Jonathan. And made sure to emphasize it. Found that interesting.
I absolutely love the humor Bill put in to it lol

What that it accomplish? Who are they admitting it to? And what will that emission change? They will still own the team.

I can't imagine he stays for long.

Strength and Conditioning Coaches tend to be kept on regardless of the HC unless they are clashing with the team doctor or are so incompetent that players are complaining that the stuff their being told to do is contributing to their injuries.

Deron Mayo was hired before Jerod was hired as a position coach.

It will be interesting to see if Pellegrino and Brian Belichick stick around.

Will the team have people in place to make the right decisions when acquiring talent. Only thing that matters.

Acquiring talent is what Wolf was doing. You can see how that worked out.

Why would you assume it's Vrabel? He's the hottest candidate on the Market currently. Why would he want to come here?

Especially since Robert and Jonathan went back to their meddling ways of the Carroll Era from the sounds of it.

When you get to 82, you won't look as good.
He was articulate and on point. No real evidence of cognitive deficit. Where he was slow to respond it seemed more conscious deliberation and choosing his words carefully, not problems thinking. Definitely not showing age related deterioration as much as I’d thought he might.

Owners correct their mistakes quickly you call it meddling.

Moving the goalposts huh? Now it's the area scouts that were on an old system. If the reports are true that if they hire Vrabel he might keep some FO personnel and if they hire Johnson he will clean house.

I will take the latter every day and all day on Sunday.

Are you related to someone in the Pats front office by chance?

He mentioned "in-game adjustments" when talking about the new coach.

So the opposite of Jerod.
Yes, I noticed that. He and Jonathan are seeing the same things we all saw. They’re not dumb, and they are fans. He also stressed that the team regressed, as a big part of his decision. Hit many of the same points discussed on here.

Yes he was hired before Jerod but since his brother got wacked he may not want to stay.

With that said Brian stayed when his dad got the boot. Who knows. He might go to Chapel Hill.

Oh and Wolf has a new grading scale apparently and Krafty is excited about it. Nice, where was this system last year?

I've heard them say that as recently as last offseason as well.

He wasn't that bad, I have seen worse. Still can't figure out how you can say our drafts have sucked for years now, but I am keeping the FO personnel.

People keep saying they won't be here after the draft. Ummm...that is FA, and the draft. Thats a big deal so...

I think it's the best position currently available. And I personally believe he is the Kraft's target. I think they did the meddling because they picked a guy that had no clue.

Vrabel would be treated differently for no other reason than he would demand it.

I’m sure the fact that Vrabel was a revered player for the Pats…as well as a Patriot HOF’er…would be a considerable influence, in addition to $125M cap space, a young QB w/great potential, and a fanbase second to none. I think it’s safe to say he’s interested in the Pats HC job.

The notion that Robert, Jonathan, and Robyn are the “decision makers” is totally plausible. Decision-making at that level has more to do with franchise valuation, ownership perception, ownership coordination (across the NFL), business coordination (across supporting businesses), diversity perception, legal matters, community outreach, and a host of other aspects. Hiring expertise to judge player talent and advise the final decision-makers occurs at the next layer down. Even the decision on a head coach and GM would be reliant on inputs that originate from that next layer (inside and outside of the organization…formal or informal in nature). There is nothing unusual about that. Go to any Fortune 500 company and see who makes the final decisions. They may not be the people you think should be doing so!
