RIP, Mr. Tagliabue.

Godspeed good sir.

The last good commissioner of the NFL.

Tags was his own man. Right or wrong we should all at least be able to agree he followed the dictates of his conscience and convictions. That's something no one will ever be able to say publicly about Fraudger without inducing laughter, as he has neither.

This.

Also, he never got booed announcing a draft pick. He wasn't perfect, but as you said, he did what he thought was right, every time.

There are a lot of worse things that could be said about a man in epitaph

Tagliabue wanted an even playing field for all teams

Goodell's legacy is doing whatever the owners wanted to help each of them get a Super Bowl

Goodell will be given credit for taking the NFL to a new level - but to me it's lower level than where Tags had it

R.I.P, condolences to his family !
He was a good guy and commissioner , so much better than the person who has held the position for the last 20 years .

Except for not suspending Ray Lewis for the Entire 2000 season like he should've done, Tagliabue did a fairly decent job for the league, and will likely go down in US sports history as the Last Good Commissioner in Any of the Big 4 leagues. RIP.
