Request: analysis of James Harrison impact versus Titans

Yeah, he has really surprised me. I thought he was finally shot and that is why he was no longer on the field for the steelers. But this is a guy who can give us 20 snaps a game. My guess is that he is just ramping it up as hard as he can to shove it in tomlin's face.

hes doing great. AND hes fresh since the steelers are god damned idiots.

Prob could have lifted Walker almost a ft off the ground if he wanted. Gets underneath and just has his way.

This is what you can expect every time blocking Harrison with a TE.

I like Harrison a lot. Gives the Youngish front 7 a lot of experience and an old head to help them along. Which since he’s been here he has seemed to help them all. I’d like to see him here again next year for the experience if he still wants to play. The other thing is he is stupidly powerful, really like him.
Harrison is our modern day Junior Seau - sets the tempo for all the young players and they respect him..and probably fear him a little as well if they mess up lol

We fall into the trap of looking for gaudy stats for pass rushers, while in reality it seems that there is a greater emphasis on keeping the edge.. and Derrick Henry's 12 carries for 28 yards may be where the impact was made, the Titans vaunted run offense was held in check..

They were keeping track of Harrisons snaps on twitter last night, and I think he was at about 50%... Harrison had 3 solo tackles.
i think he forced a holding call too

It probably matters more to him than us, but he was introduced as a starter on defense last night.

I think he played well...is clearly motivated. But more than anything his ability to set that edge allows the younger guys to get after the QB. He is definitely having an effect, I dont think I saw such an aggressive defense from the Pats all year.

This is one of the things I'm trying to pin down in this thread. So just by being on the edge he helps the pass rush even if he doesn't rush himself?

Where do I find out how many snaps he played anyway?

And by the way, when you say "younger guys"...I think every other defensive player in the NFL is "younger" than Harrison

I hope, if he still has the fire in his belly and has something left in the tank, that Harrison comes back next season. He could teach some of the young DE's how to set the edge and disrupt the QB.

On his day-after conference call, Bill Belichick compliments James Harrison, saying he was strong against the run, among other areas. "I've enjoyed working with him," he says.

James Harrison stats for game:

3 solo tackles
38 snaps*
1.3 million Steelers fans driven berserker

* made that up, I can't find his snap count
Well, the Tits ran 53 offensive plays...I bet he was out there for around 1/2 or a little more.

I can't even imagine the level of anger and intensity he'll have if the Squealers come to town.

Harrison has supplanted Chuck Norris. After the game last night he singlehandedly rescued five people from burning wreckage on Route 1 then returned to cater his teammates' after-party, mindful to include vegan selections for Tom Brady.

Before Chuck Norris turns out the light he looks under the bed for Harrison.
