Report: Welker “seriously considering” leaving Patriots

Right. My point is posters defending Welker by deflecting blame to everyone else are out of their mind. Brady played his ass off in that Super Bowl with everyone around him dropping balls and we have a guy on here saying he deserves BLAME? What a joke.

Do you really not see how idiotic you are looking? You're saying Brady "played his ass off" and doesn't deserve any blame and it's all Welkers fault in spite of Brady's mistakes and other teammates mistakes. Yet when we try to say it's not entirely Welker's fault, everyone made mistakes and Welker had a monster game minus that one drop, your argument is "NO HE DIDNT, HE DROPPED THE BALL AND COST THE GAME".

If Welker had been blown away by an offer from someone else he'd be signed by now.

This seems like Lloyd's situation last year. He wanted to be here, we wanted him here, and it was just Agent/FO Chicken. I expect this situation will end the same way.

No he's not.

He's a savvy businessman. it's called posturing. Free agents do it all the time. The Patriots do it all the time.

Don't be a fool.

EDIT:
Wow, reading the rest of these posts. I personally would be okay with him walking and saving money for defense. But wow you guys are freaking embarrassing. Welker deserves better. Why would he want to play for such a stupid unthankful spoiled fanbase.

Savvy businessmen are good at posturing and actually use it to their advantage, they don't make themselves look more desperate and pathetic when they posture. The fact everyone knows this is just posturing proves how ineffective it is. Your agent releasing vague reports to the media about "other offers" you're "seriously considering" isn't good posturing.

Welker deserves whatever he can get in the open market. If that's better than what New England is offering, he's free to leave.

Brady doesn't deserve blame the receivers as a whole do. As Giselle said he can't catch and throw the ball.

Welker had a ball hit both his hands and dropped it. That catch would have sealed the game. Sorry, but I'm going to give him a lot of blame.

You can stop calling me an idiot and a fool, it doesn't make you anymore right.

Wes is generating way too much drama for this fan, either accept the offer or move on to "greener" pastures..

20 hours and counting now since free agency began. Welker is not signed. The game is afoot. Albert Breer was in the Ravens facilities yesterday and the NBC reporter who wrote that story has no sources of his own.

Of course Wes is considering bolting. It's lunch time, so I imagine he's also considering sending Tom out for Thai food or having Giselle make him a ham sandwich. Whatever.

Tick, tick, tick. Nobody's blown him away with an offer like Mike Wallace's deal in Miami.

The only thing we think we know from this is that the Patriots have made an offer and it's their opening gambit.

Exactly what's with all the BS, if you think you're getting screwed for 2 years now just go...

Selective memory.........Tommy Boy's brain cramp safety was a nice way to get the SB underway. Except for that 1 play, the NYG controlled the ball for the first 11 minutes of the game and lead 9-0. But Brady gets the free pass. Or throwing at a 53% clip verses Baltimore this year. Must be nice to be made out of teflon

Who said anything about him playing for the JEST?

Overly spoiled by recent success, perhaps, but not ignorant.

Unfortunately ct you can find the fans I am talking about all through this thread. There are plenty of good fans here who I respect but the idiot factor has expanded geometrically and they are in their full glory in the Welker threads. The guy plays like a Hall of Famer and gets trashed by the Madden idiots and fantasy football geeks who would much rather have Chad Jackson because he's bigger and faster.

if he leaves..we better have a dam good plan. Cruz or another trade for a big time guy. We can't have lloyd amendola and other schmucks out there. Amendola gets hurt when he sneezes

How pissed would brady be if he left

The grounding call was shaky at best, he threw it 30 yards down field someone probably cut the wrong way and it looked like he was throwing to no one. How about Brady bringing them back with 2 huge 90+ yard drives to make it 17-0? You can't expect the QB to be perfect especially with a bum shoulder. He sucked against Baltimore I never said he didn't, but it's funny how the team can't do anything if he sucks, can't run can't play defense. There's tons of problems higher on the list than Brady.

Nothing on Vollmer, Talib, Edelman and Woodhead either, I guess they all just suck.

Probably means were negotiating with them because Bill wants absolute silence otherwise the offers get pulled off the table.

These overly sentimental complaints about how fans don't appreciate Welker are equally as funny as his agent's bluffing. Wes Welker wouldn't piss on me if I was dying in a fire and doesn't care about what I think. Do you really think Welker gives a **** about what fans like me or Brady2Moss think?

I think the Pats low-balled him BECAUSE no other team gave him a decent offer.

I think Bill has a huge grin on his face, he might be getting Welker even cheaper than he imagined.

Please stop talking about SB46.

It does no one any good. It's irrelevant to the discussion at hand. And it makes me want to claw my eyes out.

Moving on - I tend to think this Welker stuff is posturing.

I'm guessing/hoping the reality is that the Patriots made a conservative first offer, as they should, and that Welker and his agent are making it clear to the rest of the NFL that he is available for the taking. I'm also guessing/hoping that no one has taken the bait, yet. And, that when all is said and done, Welker is back under contract with the Patriots for a deal that is both fair to him, and smart for the team.

Barring a Vinateiri type situation where one team of comparable make-up and talent as the Patriot comes in and blows Welker away, I still think he'll be back.

Brady would be pissed that Wes is gone but not pissed at anyone. He would know that just like last time his front office will take care of him.

Branch leaves oh no problem here is Wes and Moss.

Moss Leaves no problem because you already have been handed Gronk and Hernandez and he still had Wes.

If Wes leaves I am %100 confident that the Patriots will bring in another talented receiver. He likely wont be the slot player Wes is as no one is but he will be good in his own right the Patriots will still be competing for titles. Plus he already has Gronk and Hernandez.

Name a position that BB has left bare for more than one year without making significant attempts to fill (not everything works out but he has always tried to fill holes).

Can anyone please point me to a team that has had more than 3 Pro Bowl caliber targets(WR or TE) on their team at the same time. Furthermore any team that you can find that even had 3 Pro Bowl Caliber targets is up there as one of the best offenses of all time. 07, 11, 12 Patriots, 99-01 Rams, Moss' Vikings, Air Croyell, Marinos Dolphins if I remember correct only had 2.

Bottom line we have 2 Pro Bowl type targets in Gronk and Hernandez they will create enough mismatch problems that this O will be good no matter what they find at WR.

When Branch and givens left he brought in Caldwell and Doug Gabriel, however both are tall so that would meet the standards of all of the Madden idiots here. C'mon Mike Williams and chad jackson.

There is no one better in the league at setting a price for a guy and knowing when to walk away than Belichick and the Pats. We've seen them walk away from vets before and never been burnt. Vinateiri and Branch were, to some small degree, maybe Bill's only regrettable decisions in this arena, and even then, those are arguable at best.

If Welker isn't back, it will be a massive disappointment. But I'm sure Belichick will have made the right call. Really. He does not mess these situations up.
