I never said he preferred Sanu over Sanders. I simply said that he is on record as saying that he internally advocated for them to acquire Sanu.

Well they desperately needed a receiver and the top two were Sanu and Sanders. Maybe Brady knew they weren’t getting Sanders because and then said get Sanu because they needed someone. In terms of who Brady wanted to throw to, well that was AB.

Report: Brady 'really pushed for' Sanu trade

“But Mohamed Sanu, the acquisition of him last week, I am told by several sources that Brady really pushed for that one,” Garafolo said. “So, the Patriots were willing to give up a second-round pick to get Sanu in, a guy that Brady was eager to have inside the building there and knows will be integral in the offense. He was a big factor there.”

Is that a full-throated, "I told Bill to get Sanu"? No, but it's everything short of that. I think there's ample evidence to conclude that Brady was internally pushing Belichick to acquire Sanu.

I think the real question isn't why Brady pushed for Sanu.

Its why Brady, and presumably BB, kept playing Sanu over Jakobi Meyers, despite Sanu's complete and total ineffectiveness and injury.

Did BB really think Sanu was still a better option?

Did Brady tell BB he was done with Meyers after the KC game?

Meyers played 56% of snaps in KC verse 59% for Sanu

Last 3 games Meyers had 11, 19, 11%. Sanu had 86,96, and 82%.

And in the Wild card game Meyers had 0%, and Sanu had 74% while putting up 1/5 for 11 yards.

Something odd there.

The NFL just alerted teams that we're able to announce transactions if: 1) club & player have reached an agreement on the terms of the contract. 2) the written contract has been sent to the player & agent.

So, no agreement between parties on Brady's Tamper contract as yet?
