Report: surgery for Gronk

****ing ****stick. I hate the dirty mother ****ing Seahawks and their pompom waving coach. I hate EVERYTHING!!!!

I thought I heard somewhere before that Currucci (who broke the story) is a family friend of the gronk family. Sounds to me like this is coming from their camp. The fact that he's having surgery in LA and not Boston is telling.
There's nothing telling about Gronk going to the top sports back surgeon who also did his previous two surgeries.

We need HFA don't want to go to Denver, KC , or Oakland without the Gronk.

We're just going to have to restructure the offense to succeed without him. Brees is still killing it even without Jimmy Graham. Overlying on Rob paralyze the offense.

good point. it's not like brees is throwing the ball to all star wr's..

weird how brady's rating drops 20 points without gronk. scary as hell...

How is it telling?

It is his usual back specialist:

At least knowing Gronk is out will cause McDaniels to alter his gameplans. Won't be many 2TE sets (which sucks), but there will probably be a greater focus on the WRs - hopefully Mitchell and Hogan can thrive - plus Amendola has been underutilized so far this year. Additionally, there will probably be more pony packages featuring Dion and White together.

There was nothing dirty about that hit. That hit encapsulated everything beautiful about football.

Last I checked Pats have...

Brady playing lights out
An O-line playing well.
Blount having a career year
JE11 playing well
Hogan playing well
DA playing well.
Mitchell coming of age
Bennett primed to step up
White playing well
Dion Lewis back and looking good.

If they can't win a SB with that offense they suck.

You know better than this

The problem is not the offense as much as it's the defense. If we don't make a deep playoff run, it's because of the D.

I am not in denial of the injury or surgery. I am just saying hold off on the reports that it happened vs seattle vs NY or whenever.
Well, I think I'm in denial then...

Gotta think a Bennett extension is coming much sooner rather than later.

I kinda disagree. What 53rd guy on the roster is going to bring more value to the team than what Gronk could potentially bring to the AFCCG and Super Bowl?
You might be right.

So if he suffered the injury in the Seahawks game, and rather then getting surgery a week ago, he instead played the Jets game with an already ruptured disc?

For all the people who complain that he's cautious with his body and maybe doesn't always buy into the timeline that the team wants to set for him... well, here you go. Stuff like this is exactly why the players would be smart to get second opinions on every injury and maybe not have a ton of faith in the team doctors' opinions on this stuff. In hindsight, it's pretty clear he shouldn't have played last week. The Pats are the best in the business and I give them the benefit of the doubt most of the time, but they really screw themselves sometimes by putting guys out there when they shouldn't be.

Let's be honest.

Don't blame Thomas - - it was a perfectly clean hit.

Blame Belichick and the medical staff for putting him out there unnecessarily on Sunday.

It is an inconvenient truth. Earl Thomas did his job and he did it honestly. The Patriots committed malpractice.

I love the Patriots. But honestly, if he sued them for this, He should clean their clocks in court on this.

My fault, I missed that....didn't realize it was the same doc as before. It just seemed to me that a family friend breaking the story and him having surgery not in Boston was curious. May be another example of the gronk family and pats doctors not seeing eye to eye.

The A.J. Derby fan club is weeping.
