Report: NFL Owners to Discuss New England Stadium Project

In an age where they are trying to squeeze every buck out of the fan base, I really like the idea of finally enclosing the stadium. It make sense. If they did they could probably add about 10-15 thousand more seats. At about 50 bucks per, that's an extra $500=750K more in revenue per game, not counting all the concession dollars. Clearly they could still sell it out. Either that or maybe its time to revisit the South Boston/Con ention center Idea again. I like the idea of the BOSTON Patriots again.
With the amount of money Kraft has spent developing Patriot Place, Boston is off the table.

......that will add another hour and a half to get out of the parking lots
You discount the ease of public transportation to the stadium. No just a couple of trains from South station. A South Boston Stadium could be reached by the entire MBTA system not just one train. That eliminate a LOT of drunk drivers entering the city's streets. Not saying there wouldn't be heavy traffic going in and out of the game, but the presence of a broad based public transportation system would mitigate some of it.

I've talked with stadium ops people and they talk like Gillette isn't going anywhere for decades.

Kraft is moving the stadium to Jupiter, Florida

Saw an article on this that they are talking about selling if they can't get something done.

I think losing Soldier Field would be a travesty..
The U of Illinois where Butkus went is a mini replica of Soldier field. I went to a Pats game there when Soldier was being renovated. Had the best time. Bears fans are top notch and funny.

Nothing is built to last anymore. Atlanta just built a new MLB stadium and NFL Stadium at the same time.
