Report: McNally and Jastremski to be reinstated with new roles

I've heard this mentioned before, but I can't believe that's true. There have to be some limitations of this for intentional torts. I don't think a clause waiving your right to sue for defamation or assault would hold up in court.

Does someone have a link to the owner's agreement?

Google "NFL by-laws constitution"

Here is a scenario where the Pats get their pick back. After the end of the season. After all the "new ball preparation" data has been examined, Kraft THEN appeals to recover the draft picks based on this new data, and the league agrees that nothing happened at the AFCCG and returns the picks, since it would be unjust to do otherwise.

Too optimistic ? '

The league isn't planning to collect reliable, comprehensive data.

But but.. Tanguay and Felger promised me that these guys had been paid off.

So now with millllions in their off-shore bank accounts I'm supposed to believe these two are willing to come back and work hourly for not very much money just to keep up appearances?

So not only are they super ninja ball deflators but they are master money launderers too?

I can't imagine any role they could give them that wouldn't threaten the integrity of the game?

Can't let them near the balls because they will let the air out of them.

Can't let them handle the trash because they will dumpster dive and reveal the opponents game plan.

Can't let them handle the Gatorade or they will date rape the opposing QB.

Can't let them handle the uniforms or they will coat them with Pam.

Can't let them near receivers gloves or they will Jerry Rice them.

What could they possibly do that wouldn't destroy the integrity of the game?

They can take turns handling BB'S InstantFace account.

New roles? Damn, looks like no more deflated balls. Looks like no playoffs for us this year.

Hopefully in their new roles they will be responsible for the headsets and other communication equipment. Just to troll everyone..

Wish I could give you a dozen Winners for this one. Best laugh out loud all day!

My guess is the NFL has okay'ed their rehire as part of damage control.

I'm sure their aware of a potential defamation suits from the Patriots and their employees. I suspect that the Patriots are biding their time waiting for the appeals process to play out before they decide how to play the "defamation card." If handled properly, the threat of suing the league may bring about more effective changes than actually suing the league, if the Patriots play this right.

Assuming the NFL appeal fails (and I think it will), Kraft will have all the leverage now and he can start demanding apologies, restoration of draft picks, and STFU memos from the league to other teams throwing around wild allegations against the Pats.

I take news of M & J's rehire and reports of the owners wanting the neutering of Goodell in disciplinary as evidence of a trend of meaningful positive change in the NFL.

Better find yourself a comfortable chair to wait for a defamation suit. I suspect the appeal will be dropped in the middle of the night. This crap is OVER. Finally! The NFL got whooped by Brady. How awesome is that?

But of course it will never be over for the haters. The damage is done. We'll have to hear about this nonsense until the Pats win their next SB (with properly inflated balls but only if it's in a dome-IGL).

Everyone knows by now this was all a scam. Even the much derided ESPitN article laid the claim this was revenge for spygate. More and more media analysts and ex footballers are finally coming around.

Oddly, that nickname "The Inflator" got thrown about when the Wells Report was being scrutinised. Doesn't this title belong to Roger Goodell?
He's the one who inflated the whole sage.

No League Discipline!

The "discipline" whether imposed by the league or the team, was that they were suspended without pay for almost half a calendar year. That's substantial.

We alredy knew that the NFL wasn't imposing additional punishment, because they made a public announcement the other day stating such.

I want to know what their new roles will be.

CFO and SVP Business Strategy?

uh...we JUST won a Super Bowl with the balls properly inflated according to the NFL...you miss that game?

Of course not, but haters claim that SB was tainted because of deflategate. I'm not one to be bothered by what anyone says about the Pats, so to me it doesn't matter. My point was that for years we heard that Pats haven't won a SB since spygate and then we win one right after this deflategate fiasco. So we have to win another one and another one and another one. Lol

This is why you were born with two middle fingers......

I use both liberally......

I heard through the grapevine that they are both going to be working the headset system.

Better yet, serving drinks and food in the Commissioner's luxury suite next time he's in Gillette.
