Troubling news for members of the Mac Jones Haters *********** Club: whenever the Patriots pro shop issues items like this (below), the player usually sticks around for the coming season. So barring the unforeseen, the kid you love to hate will be here in 2023. You might want to get your own copy now regardless; if Mac is traded, it will become a collector's item. If not, you can vent your anger throwing darts at it. A recommended slogan for you: Go Pats In Spite of Mac!

Now we're singling people out you're a piece of work Tunescribe.

The one thing that could work - if Mac and BB need to break up is...
Trade Mac to LV
Sign Jimmy G for 3-4 years on a modest deal
Hire Mike LaFleur as OC (he worked with Jimmy G for 4 years in SF)
Zappe is the understudy, sign another mid-level vet QB to compete (Mike White, Heineke, Beathard/Mullens)

That said, I'd like to see Mac work out here, and have a year of redemption with a legit Offensive coach and system.
And why the hell would Skippy want Mac with Stidham looking a lot better?? I would take Stidham back in a heart beat.

Also if that's the case it's not by choice nobody wants him and I don't blame em. 3-13 here we come.

Nah. Seen enough of this already.

Especially since Bob Kraft bought this team I've noted how uncannily accurate the pro shop's marketing decisions are with this sort of thing. It could be they just play the percentages, in which case you might finally get your Mac Jones 2023 calendar on clearance at a bargain-basement price. Or they take cues directly from the front office, also a possibility.
I hadn't thought about this but it makes perfect sense now. Kraft's unprecedented press release about OC interviews, in support of Mac in the Bill vs Mac drama, was all because he didn't want to lose his investment in the already published Pats annual calendar. Mr. Kraft is a smart business man.

But the offensive system sucked. I'm sure if you're boss came up with a work plan that was terrible, you'd gripe either to coworkers or to the boss directly.

And those are just rumors that he was contacting McD. The media is trying to kick the Pats while they're down and generate controversy.

The only sign of "insubordination" from Mac that we know of for sure was directed at Matt and for good reason because Matt just lost his OC job.
I finally listened to douchebags Simms and Florio. They mentioned that he reached out to several people, not just one. In a league were BB has gravitas and league-wide connections it's not incredibily unbelievable that he found out.

As to the rumors, I never once for a second believed Florio on his Brady to MIA rants. It turned out to be true. The real question is who was their source on this Mac thing. It had to have come from the Belichick camp. But why? Hmmm

It doesn't have to come from BB's camp. It could be the media stirring up ****. They turned baseless rumors into reports all the time.

according to him im not a millenial.. ive always been right on the fence, depending on who you talk to

I was born in 83, he defines millenials as anyone born from 84 to like 2000\
I've seen 1981-1996, so you make the cut. Lol

I would like you to show me one single post where I advocate for Zappe over Mac.

The biggest thing that separates Brady from Jones, beside the 20 year difference and the bigger brain, is what's hurting Jones now with Bill. Brady was a more subservient QB with an extreme sense of respect for authority. That made him the perfect player for an authoritarian like Bill. Mac Jones isn't like that and maybe no QBs are like that now. It could be a sign that Bill and Patricia are behind the times with the newer players and that they may need to move on from the my way or the highway approach.

Belichick did.
Yeah, but that was before he even threw a ball in the NFL. Hindsight is 20/20. It could be worse, 49ers gave up three first rounders and a third for Trey Lance and signing bonus and guranteed money totalling over 56 mil. He was so bad he could barely get on the field pre-injury in 2022. Now they seemed to have found their guy, Mr Irrevelent pick #262 at a measley 3+ million a year, 1.5 million guaranteed.

Drafting quarterbacks is hard, really hard. We should know, pats waited till the 6th round to draft probably the best QB in history of NFL. Go figure...

That being said, the coaching staff never really put not just Mac Jones, but the entire team in a good position to succeed. The O-line blocking scheme was a mess especially in the first half of the season. If they can sort that out we will see just how good Mac Jones can be, hopefully without his hissy fits and tantrums on the sideline.

Again, maybe it's Josh and maybe Mick Lombardi? But I don't think he randomly reached out to people called other teams' coaches outside of that former coaching circle.

It doesn't matter. If you have ever been negative, you may get a b1tch slap from the squad.

I have somehow been labeled a "Mac hater" even though I have posted multiple times I would rather them just stick with Mac since we invested a first round pick. Apparently that is hating.

No, that's silly, you have it backward. You know you're a silly guy. But since you have a parrot in the household you get some slack.

I suspect the process goes something like this:

Pro shop marketing manager: "It's that time of year again, the 2023 product line needs to be finalized. Of course, we'll have the cheerleader and team calendars. Since Mac Jones jersey sales have been so popular, what do you think about a calendar featuring him exclusively?"

Jonathan Kraft: "Well, he's still on his rookie contract ... You never know if Bill might throw us a curveball, but I suspect things will be trending up for him with the changes we expect. I say go for it."

Pro shop marketing manager: "You got it!"

'
Attempting to "diplomatically" parse it out doesn't change where you're coming from. Without question, Mac Jones deserves criticism for how he handled himself this past season. Yet there is a stark difference between continually piling on a player as you and others have vs. pulling for him to improve and do well for the sake of team success. Which you haven't, while entertaining trade scenarios alongside fantasies of Bailey Zappe supplanting him.

Maybe Mac isn't "the answer" for this team. Maybe he will be traded or get beaten out in training camp and if either happens so be it, all I care about is WINNING. But as long as the coaches put him out there he will have my support as a fan warts and all, which can't be said for you or the other "haters" (or perhaps you would prefer a kinder, gentler term like "doggedly enthusiastic critics").

You're funny. Yup, you can always hold out hope they got it wrong despite "2023 Wall Calendar" gracing the cover. Keep those fingers crossed!

I really just don't understand your viewpoint. Entertaining trade scenarios isn't "hating", talking about Zappe isn't "hating." Certainly, there is some conduct on this board that I would classify as "hating" on Mac Jones which probably grates me as much as it grates you but I can certainly say it hasn't come from me. I think there's a pathway for Mac Jones to turn it around and be the successful QB of the NEP long term. I also think there's a chance he's just not as good as we hoped, which sucks, but it is what it is. You don't need to cast this wide net targeting every person you can think of that's criticized the QB and blast them, I don't know what you're looking to gain by doing that.

As for the calendar dates, I think you're missing my point. I'm not saying it's a 2022 calendar, I'm saying that the calendar includes the last 4 months of 2022 within it. Generally publishers do this when they are releasing the calendar in the fall so that people can grab it and use it for the last few months of one year and then throughout the following year. If this calendar was just now released recently and is thus indicative of the player staying on the roster, why would they include 4 months that have already happened and serve no purpose?

Again, maybe it's Josh and maybe Mick Lombardi? But I don't think he randomly reached out to people called other teams' coaches outside of that former coaching circle.
Problem with that is both of them were 2022 opponents who went on to defeat the Patriots later that season.

If you are not shooting loads on that wall calendar, you are indeed a hater.
