Attempting to "diplomatically" parse it out doesn't change where you're coming from. Without question, Mac Jones deserves criticism for how he handled himself this past season. Yet there is a stark difference between continually piling on a player as you and others have vs. pulling for him to improve and do well for the sake of team success. Which you haven't, while entertaining trade scenarios alongside fantasies of Bailey Zappe supplanting him.
Maybe Mac isn't "the answer" for this team. Maybe he will be traded or get beaten out in training camp and if either happens so be it, all I care about is WINNING. But as long as the coaches put him out there he will have my support as a fan warts and all, which can't be said for you or the other "haters" (or perhaps you would prefer a kinder, gentler term like "doggedly enthusiastic critics").
You're funny. Yup, you can always hold out hope they got it wrong despite "2023 Wall Calendar" gracing the cover. Keep those fingers crossed!
Especially since Bob Kraft bought this team I've noted how uncannily accurate the pro shop's marketing decisions are with this sort of thing. It could be they just play the percentages, in which case you might finally get your Mac Jones 2023 calendar on clearance at a bargain-basement price. Or they take cues directly from the front office, also a possibility.
