Could tip the balance in the division...Ian, you know the back-up by any chance?

Wonder what the severity actually is. If he misses time, I don’t think Matt Barkley or Case Keenum are nearly the same threat… definitely opens the door to the division for any of the other 3 teams.

The Bills play the Vikings this week so if Allen is out that doesn’t look too good.

Honestly they’ve been super fortunate allen has been as healthy as he has . The load he’s carrying and his wreckless style of play doesn’t bode well with longevity.

If buffalo is smart they get a real rb/ run game and cut down on the qb run plays until playoff time. Might cost you some regular season success but its likely going to extend your window by years.

Was reading about this over on NFL subreddit, where they made things seems bleak. This type of injury normally happens to pitchers. Apparently if it’s torn, it could require Tommy John Surgery and would be season ending. I also read that Josh strained his UCL his rookie year and missed 4 weeks.

Would make things interesting in the division if he misses time.

I read he stayed in the game and was still throwing 60 yard passes with the pain - NUTS to allow your franchise QB to do that. I saw 2 - 4 weeks if it is not torn. Since it was 4 weeks previously, you have to assume it is not better this time, recurring injuries never improve.

With him scrambling all the time, I’m surprised he got injured while in the pocket…

Healthy or not I think Miami has been better than Buffalo this year.

All clickbait right now? We don't even know anything right?

Nothing definite but Allen was holding his elbow during the game, so there is some type of injury, and he had a similar injury previously. All that is not click bait.

Right after the hit happened, he was clearly bothered by it. Very next play, he threw a pass that started hot then just dropped into the ground. I think the play after that, he heaved an okay pass that was defended well by Gardner, but he definitely didn’t lead the receiver. His hand seemed to be bothering him. So, the report of an elbow issue causing nerve issues in his hand isn’t a surprise.

I don't know holding his elbow but still playing, and previous injury. I guess I see it as a little trigger happy to start talking about back ups and very trigger happy to be talking tommy John.

Yes. But it is all on the table if you look at the extremes. I doubt he plays for at least 2 weeks considering the previous injury.

It’s all speculation at this point. I was not trying to imply he will definitely need tommy john surgery, just pointing out that if torn, he would. I didn’t know much about this type of injury since it’s not really super common in football, so figured I’d share the different possibilities in case others also didn’t know much about it.
