Remember Wolf isn't a GM, hes a talent scout

Outside of Maye and returnee free agents... where is the talent?
Have to agree with Cousin Wozzy.

Breakfast anyone? Scrambled eggs made with sharp Vermont cheddar cheese and sour cream, maple hickory bacon cooked crisp, toasted raisin/banana toast buttered with a small dab of wild blueberry jam and a couple of pieces of french bread, hot chocolate and cranberry juice. I miss coffee.

There are posters on this forum with far more personnel talent with limited amount of input that can be gained from media. This guy has full access and a staff.........what the hell are they doing . This is the same guy that had his footprint in the last few Drafts and FA. We blamed BB. Bill has to be laughing his ass off.
Disappointed and RK hopefully gets a real GM that can fix this Team.....not a poser.

He drafted Drake Maye, thus he has 15 years of playoff contention ahead, so get used to him being around.

I have to agree. Our winning record since he took over as GM has been atrocious.
He's been Director of Player Personnel since 2022, they've got an 11-23 record in that time.

Can we give the guy one season to see if his moves pay off before declaring him a failure?

The me part of 'we' can definitely do that. It seems as though the you part of 'we' can also do it.
The collective 'we' on the other hand... NFW

Dude can’t do anything right unless he 100% takes the consensus top of the big board player.

Even that would be loudly and frequently criticised, because it would have required trading up multiple times, leaving the team with both fewer picks this year and next. Then he would have been criticised for overextending.

The same happens in free agency. Many posters are advocating that Ridley should have been given the $70M+ in guaranteed money it would have taken to get him to sign with New England. Then once that was done, they would have complained about the cost.

Even the most superficial study of NFL drafts shows that it is more about volume than about location of the pick in the draft order. Statistically, we are better off drafting the two best evaluated WR's in the 4th and 5th rounds, than a single one in the 2nd.

I think he’ll grow into the GM thing and I’m hoping these picks pan out. We have a long way to go.
In addition to this being his first draft, his potential new boss is looking over his shoulder and getting a job is dependent on the results. Definitely not the time to get creative trading all over the draft board. Going forward whoever takes the GM role needs the autonomy make decisions if they are going to be held responsible for the results.

Who specifically? I mean, you really think that?

Remember way back when after BB left we were wondering who BK would bring as the next general manager? Instead of bringing in an experienced GM to make key decisions he decided to do it by committee. Wolf is and has been a talent scout, he has no experience being a GM someone that not only chooses the players in the draft but free agency, and swinging trades, especially on draft day. What is going on with the FO is an experiment. I think he may a little gun shy when it comes to moving around the board.

It makes sense if someone else where to make the final decision from the option of players Wolfe presents.

My God you people need to chill the **** out. He drafted almost exclusively by need which was what he should have done and perhaps these guys really do pan out.

No. He didn't draft almost exclusively by need. That's an excuse people are using and it's a joke.

I sympathize with the point of view that we're last in our division so we probably should have taken more risks,
if the goal is to try to win this year we should have taken more risk.

there is absolutely no indication whatsoever, in writing, speech or actions, that the goal is to try to win this year.

We aren't trying to move up the division this year. This is the year where we gently break in our top QB. This is the year where we rebuild our O line. This is the year where winning is NOT the goal because trying to force wins would involve throwing Maye into the fire which absolutely, positively, definitely, Must Not Happen.

I’m thinking Kraft has become the new Jones. Bill has his middle finger out … meanwhile his Oline down in Dallas is shaping up for next year when he takes over the Cowboys.

I am always quite stunned by how much some people like being miserable
lol there’s Noway you from around here
It’s a New England thing.. weather sucks, the Pike sucks, traffic sucks, Sox suck, tourists suck, Bourne bridge sucks, Lynn sucks, north shore sucks can’t get to it, New Yorkers suck, Yankees suck , you suck…

The buck stopped with BB back then, no one picked anyone without BB saying so.

That is not completely true. Kraft has said that BB did not have complete control until about 2005/2006, and there was a big shift, "different approach", starting in 2021 as well.
