Excellent interactive ranking device

List Ranker - Rank 'Em: Patriots priorities - ESPN Boston

My ranking....have at it

1.Lock-down CB (Talib?)

2.Re-sign Vollmer

3.LBs in pass coverage

4.Vertical passing game help

5.Enforcer at safety

6.Re-sign Welker

7.Defensive back depth

8.Another defensive tackle

9.Re-sign Woodhead

10.Extend Ninkovich

11.Kickoff returner

I'm not into the extending Nink idea. He will be 30 when he goes into FA and I don't think his value is going to spike higher than it is now. I'd like to see how Francis, Cunningham and Bequette develop next year before we extend him.

I might flip #6 and #7, and I might flip #8 and #9, but that seems about right.

I hate that so many people have Welker valued so low. Hopefully the Patriots don't make the same mistake or the offense isn't in nearly as good a shape as 2012.

Working on a deal that can keep Vollmer on the line is important too. Let's not forget how that RT position looked before him..

I don't want an enforcer at Strong Safety, but an upgrade to Gregory is a must.

The defensive line really sucked against the Ravens. Wilfork seemed worn down. Love couldn't play. Jones was half the man he was at the start of his first season. Depth here is key. Armstead is a big signing already, but he can't be looked at as anything more than depth until we are sure he can be a starter.

Dane Fletcher might be a huge addition to the LB core next year. But he only gives us more of what we have already. He can help stop the run and he can pass rush pretty well. He isn't going to help cover anyone though.

With Talib gone, the Patriots will have to replace him with someone decent at man and better than him at zone. They should also find someone to take over for Arrington. That guy sucks.

A lanky receiver with speed wouldn't make a huge initial impact, but it would help keep defenses a lot more honest over top. This will only help the rest of New Englands receivers.

I really don't think the rest of the list is needed. A lock down corner would be great, but isn't 100% necessary

Vareen can take Woodheads snaps if he isn't at the right price for Belicheck.

Why bother extending anyone at the moment?

Demps and Edelman got the kicks.
