Suggesting that a good compromise would be no reduction in the penalties, but the league apologizing for sending the wrong psi measurements in a letter and not correcting them.

So, Kraft is livid that his team, fully innocent was given the largest penalty ever, and the GOATs reputation was trashed unacceptably, and he will be fine with all of that if the NFL admits they were wrong to lie in a letter?

I think he is reaching and I have found his opinions on this whole thing a little weird. I get the feeling he wants to shout how ridiculous this whole thing is but ESPN wants him to do the ESPN thing and instead we got a bunch of middling that didn't make sense. I don't have specific examples as this has been shaped over the past few months.

I didn't believe AndyJohnson when he posted this. I read the article myself and then double checked to make sure it was posted under Mike Reiss' name. Shocked. I can understand why the NFL would want this deal but I can't understand how it benefits Kraft or the Patriots.

Spygate STILL isn't behind the team. This isn't going away no matter what, so all that matters now is getting as much of the punishment rescinded as possible so it doesn't set the success of the franchise back.

Which is why Reiss has gone full ******. Why would Kraft be reportedly ready to take the league to court over what he calls ridiculous penalties based on no proof, and then accept all of those penalties because the league issues a statements saying we made a mistake in our letter----but every piece of the punishment stands. Kraft gets nothing out of that.

If that minor blip appeases Kraft, then I am done with the Patriots once Brady and BB are done and until Kraft is gone. To be satisfied that the NFL says they were wrong to release incorrect information and still accept those penalties, is insane. This whole thing is about NE saying they did nothing wrong, and the NFL saying they deliberately tampered with footballs to gain an advantage. Hope Reiss is completely wrong.

This will never be behind the team. That ship has sailed. There is no reason for compromise, no matter how long it takes. This is beyond insulting.

sometimes you have to look at your options and pick the best available. sometimes the best available option sucks. thats what we are looking at. you dont want to see it, but thats where we are at. this isnt going where most of us want

I would buy that if it included Goodell announcing that he accepts that the conclusions of the Wells report as based on questionable and circumstantial evidence, and the report did not find nearly enough evidence to conclude guilt, that the picks are returned, Brady's suspension overturned, and the Patriots are fined $50,000 for not toeing the line in cooperation. The $50,000 is worth paying to make it go away, none of the other penalties, including the finding of guilt are.

I would never do it, and I will leave the fold if he does, but I could see the possibility of Kraft doing it. Kraft occupies a lofty position as a leader of one of the most successful business enterprises in his career and beyond. Under the direction of this commissioner, the money is rolling in. Kraft has publicly been one of Goodell's staunchest supporters. Kraft said he would not appeal the NFL decision. Why would he say such a thing (I criticized it at the time)? In saying this he acknowledges that he places great value on the brotherhood of owners and their agreement not to bring litigation against the league, and the low likelihood that such lititgation would be successful (it is a much higher hurdle than the one Brady faces). If he turns and sues the league, he loses his vaunted position among his fellow owners and the NFL commissioner. He would be sacrificing his perch in the highest level of his business for a small likelihood of tangible gain, merely to appease a minority of fans (like me) who will walk away. There is a long line of fans happy to take my place.

How is the best option to do nothing? How is a compromise that gives you nothing at all in return the best you can do?

I wish I knew how to create a poll on here.
I'd love to see the response of fans if Kraft stops without exoneration.
I would bet 95% would say they lose respect for him as owner and may abandon their fandom.
He should see that.
