Right now, he has no kids and obviously no grandchildren, so speculating that he needs a 50m dollar contract to help take care of his family is borderline insanity.
I get where you're coming from, but there are plenty of people who provide plenty for their families on 100k dollar salaries, and most often less. I realize that a football player will want more, but most people don't make 3-4m in their entire lifetime, let alone their late 20s.
Malcolm would be doing just fine on a 3 year/33m dollar deal with incentives, particularly if 15-18 of it were guaranteed. Actually, he'd be filthy rich.
And he could easily take care of all that family that he doesn't yet have with that kind of money. I'd take that deal if I were him, rather than risk injury for a few million more in 2018 FA. Both deals check the "security" box.
