You can't compare the situations.
1) The Browns were rebuilding when Crennel got there. They had no QB. No RB. No WRs. Their defense was horrendous.
2) The Jets were an established team when Mangini took over from Herm Edwards. To claim that the team was in shambles is friggin LUDICROUS and so friggin UNTRUE its pathetic.
And, btw, Neither is the Defensive Coordinator at the two places you mentioned. They are the Head Coaches. Clearly you don't understand the difference.
Crennel - 3 rings with the Pats as the Defensive Coordinator.
Mangini - 0 rings with the Pats as the Defensive Coordinator. And, as I mentioned, Mangini actually had his responsibilities taken from him during games in the 2nd half of the 2005 season. I believe from the Miami game onwards. So, in the 1st 8 games, the Pats averaged 27.5 points allowed. In the last 8 with BB running the defense, they averaged 14.75 points allowed.
Haha, owned.
Man Im so glad we got the good D co-ordinator.
Mangini > Crennel
in fact...
Mangini > All
Gotta luv JEST fans, all talk and bravado B4 the season starts. Then once the games begin, it's all 'draft talk'. LOSAHS!
Yeah, this is their time of year all right.

I doubt Crennel would come back, even if he is fired.
The Pats don't need a new DC. Pees is doing just fine.
LMFAO!!!
Is that a joke. That is purely the most idiotic comment ever.
When Mangini too over our team was total mess, we had an O-line that was so bad we went through 5 different QB's in a season and finished next to last in the league in rushing. Umm the Browns O-line was worse and their top FA acquisition (LeCharles Bentley) went down in the first practice and was lost for the season. It was thought for a little while his career was over and there were a couple of times his doctors contemplated amputating his leg because of serious infections post surgery. He is just begging to get back now. Besides, how can you blame the O-line for fragile Pennington's injuries?
A QB who's career was in serious jeoprady, and no depth at all behind him. The Browns had no pro caliber QB's AT ALL. We'll see if Quinn turns into anything but as of right now, they still don't have a pro caliber QB.
A RB who Herm edwards had left crippled and barely able to walk, our depth?? Derrick Blaylock Who did the Browns have for a RB? Rueben Droughns and Lee Suggs, yeah powerhouses! Droughns only averaged 3.4 yards per carry for them last year.
A defence who had lost one of our best players and best P rusher in J Abraham, also lost Ty Law (1st string corner) and were enetering a 3-4 system despite having personnel totally suited to the 4-3. The Browns have NO defense. At least Mangini had something to work with.
If thats not a shambles, WHAT IS????
Why not? If there was no other coaching jobs available why would New England be unthinkable?
