I wasnt claiming Magini being better co-ordinator, I was just referring to them both as Co-ordinators, as thats what they have in common, they both D-co-ordinated for the Pats.

Mangini actually had his responsibilities taken from him during games in the 2nd half of the 2005 season. I believe from the Miami game onwards. So, in the 1st 8 games, the Pats averaged 27.5 points allowed. In the last 8 with BB running the defense, they averaged 14.75 points allowed.

You lost your best Pass Rusher because Tannenbaum and Mangini couldn't convince him to stay. Same with Law. That falls on Mangini and Tannenbaum. Not on Edwards.

As for depth behind Pennington, you had at least one QB who'd shown something in Bollinger. Not the kid's fault that the injuries they had that year were bad.

My point in the above post was in response to the poster that said Mangini hadent done anythin because the team above had won a PO game 2 years ago, when really, hardly any of that team were available.

BTW as for the C-mart injury, Herm played him when he was hurt, he suffered what turned out to be a career ending knee injury in week 2 yet Herm continued to play him and effectively ran him in to the ground. I'm not blaming herm totally though for the bad team, like you've mentioned above there were other reasons.

The Pats don't need a new DC. Pees is doing just fine.

I'd be thrilled if Weis had so far failed and could come back. Unfortunately for the Pats he has succeeded. The team has missed him much more than Crennel.

As for the Jets troll, in the past few years NE has had three DCs and Mangini was the worst (not opinion by the way. look at the performance of the D under each). I have no desire to take away from what he accomplished last year or to say he'll fail going forward; I just want to laugh at the notion that he was the best DC for NE.

My post does look like I was trying to imply that but I didnt mean it that way. Crennel was a great D Co-ordinator and yes evidence suggest that he was better than Mangini.

However I still prefer Mangini as a HC.
