The sad thing is that Zappe is better equipped than Mac to play behind a **** OL.

Trent Brown, Strange, Andrews, Onwenu better stay healthy once they get healthy.
Mac is Bledsoe with Penningtons Arm.

Zappe speaking pretty technically in his press conference. It sounds like he's absorbed BOB's offense well.

Zappe says he worked this offseason on sidearm throws to be able to throw around defenders and prevent tipped passes.

You're probably right about that. But if Zappe was playing for his chance to make this a real QB competition, I would've liked to see some passion and some urgency. He looked half asleep. Ya, the OL was bad, but show a bit of fight. That's where Malik shined - granted it's all QB draws and running, but his passes on the run were surprisingly accurate. I'd sure like to see more of him at QB the rest of preseason.

Belichick Zappe not taking the bait about any issues between guys in the QB room competing with each other: "We all want to win, that's the main objective with everyone on the team. We want to do what's best for the team and that's it"

the offensive line play was atrocious...

the wr's were less than exciting...

the running backs suffered greatly due to the poor line play...

Bailey Zappe has pretty much lost whatever "magic" he had leading up to the chicago bears game... after that mauling, he was never the same... absolutely can have a career in the nfl, as long as he gets used to holding a clipboard...

i get that its a "competition" ... but for cripes sakes, why was folk kicking tonight?

the new punter has a leg...

malik cunningham could be great or not... time will tell... i think he has to stick on the 53 ... if we try to stash him, he's getting signed by another team...

Guessing Juju, Parker, Bourne, Douglas are 100% locks. Bourne slightly less so because I feel like there's a small chance he could get traded. Thornton and Boutte are jockeying for the 5th slot - you'd have to guess Thornton has the edge due to draft status but if Boutte is somehow showing more promise in practice, they might want to trade Thornton. No one else has Thornton's speed though, unfortunately. Then Malik would be the "6th" WR who is also the 3rd QB, and Bill has carried 3 QBs about half the time, so it lessens the pain of having so many WRs. Though I guess that makes Slater the "7th"...

I liked what I saw from White (obviously), Ukuale, Jennings... Now add Barmore, Judon and Uche to that mix and whooboy we got a good front that can get after the QB

The OL will always have multiple injuries which is why you need depth. When the OL gets injured you will see what you saw tonight with Zappe

I wouldn't term Douglas a lock quite yet. Although, I hope he ends up that way, same with Boutte. Maybe they end up carrying six WRs.

Let's not lose sight of one important thing that happened tonight - TT made a big play. It was a huge step in providing some evidence in his potential.
