RE: Quick Reminder on the Thread Ignore

Should we move "The Bill Megathread" there?
I’d leave it where it is, at least for now. People can talk about whatever, but depending on how the conversation shifts, we may end up moving it. The issue is that every time something new happens, a thread will still start here and force us to then have to both move and then merge it. So keeping it here at least simplifies that. It also allows people to put it on ignore and then have the merged threads automatically get ignored with them.

Look at you in God mode and ****

Lol, far from it. I don’t blame him for asking. And I’m sure things will settle down a bit once we get the season underway.

Maybe it's the romantic in me but I like to think of you occasionally just going all Mel Brooks and yeah I know it's not your style

Hey! This one belongs in the Bill/girlfriend thread, not here! Stay on your side of the street!

Even in that scene the actress is far too old for Bill

Thanks. I had forgotten I could've just removed the cesspool that is the Bill UNC thread from the main page

I would like to suggest a feature where we can see how many people have blocked or muted a particular poster. Ideally, it would be public, but even if only visible to the subject poster, it would give him/her visibility to how they're perceived by the community.
I'd like to take this to another level, sort of soccer style. The top two or three mutees get hammer banned to the Practice Squad forum. Maybe a season first time, year second, permaban the third. If you're found bypassing the ban permaban.

LOL, sorry, I just re-read it and you're right, I didn't exactly explain it all that well.

Here's a little clearer explanation:

Next to every thread is this button. It only takes one click to put the thread on ignore and as soon as you hit it, the thread immediately fades out and is gone from view:

If you do that in error, or if you just want to see what threads you have on ignore, there are two ways to access them. You can click this button in the left floating sidebar, which should be viewable in desktop:

Or if that sidebar isn't appearing, you can click this one within the slide-out menu (desktop & mobile) that opens when you click the button on the top left of the main site navigational bar. Click on the "Forums" menu, and it's located in the group of icons at the bottom:

When you click that, it will open up the menu on the right showing the list of any threads you're ignoring. From there, you can just uncheck them to take them off ignore, and they'll reappear when you refresh the page.

I was only kidding Ian, it’s not your problem that I’m an idiot.

Ok but what if I ignored the thread that tells me how to ignore threads?

I'd like to think that, unlike at home, here at PF the author of this thread cannot be ignored. Although if anyone could find a way to do it my money would be on you.

@fnordcircle found the loophole - while people can't ignore me as a user, they can still ignore any thread that I create with that button.

That function was an add-on by me, so it's not tied into the software, and I don't have anything in it that prevents people from ignoring threads I start.

I know there are a couple of threads where this has come up, and I'm sure there will be a few more here and there depending on how the season goes. That was a key part of the redesign, so I want to make sure people take advantage of it if they need it.
The GDT was so bad yesterday, for the first time in 18 years i put the whole thread on ignore
