RB3 is Who?

It was a strange year for Rham with his dad passing, putting the ball on the ground..etc.
As the year went on he earned back trust and was really good.
If you want to really know who the coaching staff thinks is the starter, you can look at the most recent games, the 4 in the playoffs.

Rham: 13/20/25/12 touches
Henderson: 10/13/3/9 touches.

That’s 70 to 35, double the touches for Stevenson in the most important games of the year, win or go home.

So to answer your question, nothing has changed.
Rham was the starter to end last season and still is today.
We will see. Part of those numbers were Henderson being banged up and hitting the rookie wall.

They have a chance to be an incredible duo.
If Rham plays like he did the later part of the season and Hendo can take another step, it will be one of the best 1-2 punches in the league.

I think this is how they start the year, Rham getting over 50% and Henderson getting under 50%, but if Henderson figures it out, that could change.

46 receptions on 65 targets for 550 yards and 2 TD's last year.
You have it right.

Number of targets is the only and true barometer of a WR. Not the number of snaps which is totally foolish. In that scenario the WR is penalized when almost 50% of the offensive plays are runs and the WR is running a route as a decoy or blocking. Furthermore, Maye throws at a rate of 72%, so 28% of his throws were not completed. Using snaps, if the WR is on the field during a pass to Douglas thats incomplete, he gets penalized.
Anyone with that line can be our WR4 any day of the week and twice on Sundays (shrugs).

But thanks for answering.
Hollins was WR3 last season and is still WR3 until Douglas or Williams takes over.

Hollins and AJ Brown are the only current NE WRs to catch TD passes in the Super Bowl and Conference Championship.

You keep implying Henderson wasn’t good. He had 900 yards at 5.1 per carry.

Don't know why some can't see the obvious. Rham was a complete RB for us after he cleaned up his fumbling.

He never said such a thing: but he hit that Rookie wall and was ineffective late last year. Rookies do that sometimes.

And this is where you stop having a good football discussion, and revert back to your old ways.
I never implied anything remotely close to what you are suggesting.

Every comment you made includes something like “if he can take another step”. How does that not imply he was lacking?

It was not “every comment”.
It was one comment.
He needs to improve his pass blocking to be on the field more.
This isn’t a secret, it’s widely known.
We get it, you’re a Buckeye fan and you are having a hard time being objective.

So getting 50 more carroed and 300 more yards means he needs to improve?
He came into the league recognized as one of the most NFL ready pass pro RBs to ever be drafted.

Yes I know that.
And he struggled with it terribly his Rookie year.

When your offensive line is well...offensive, then it makes it very difficult for your running backs to look like they are good in pass protection. I don't thing he struggled as badly as some here think he did. He wasn't great, but he was willing. Its just he isn't 6'4 and 320 pounds so there is no way he is going to be amazing.

Why wouldn’t I think that, he had 50 more carries last year, and was more effective . What do you think changed
Health is what changed.

Stevenson missed three games last year.

Henderson missed none.

That more than accounts for the statistical differences.

it will be interesting to see both Rham and Henderson with AVT, Wilson at his better spot and Gilliam blocking for them

Math don’t math.
180/17 is more than 130/14

The worst news in camp was hearing Rham is somehow ahead of Henderson. That should absolutely not be possible.

It seems as though Rham is going to be the piñata, so Henderson can make the most out of his carries and not get worn down.

Don't sleep on Corey Kiner unless a RB is special: they're a dime a dozen. That said: Corey Kinder plays Bigger than His size: and runs more North/South than East/West. I think he's going to be sneaky good for us this year: his catching is not bad either. He's not a finished product but he has a lot to work with.
