This is a horrible defense. Bill gambled on the haynesworth experiment and it failed badly.
Haynesworth was a bad move,but I think the failure to keep Sanders around definately hurt the secondary.
Sanders was by far not a perfect Safety and pretty much mediocre,but the intangibles he brought in terms of knowledge of the system and helping the younger players out in getting ready to play the pro game in a Patriots complicated defense,are priceless values that hurt when they are gone.
I think bill could have easily filled the void sanders left by drafting a safety instead of malliot, a guy who will most likely never start here.
