In reality we could have had Jordan Richards in the 4th or 5th. We knew we wern't going to pick up Mevis option we should have went with plan B which should have been a CB in the Second Round.

Unless he would have been gone by then. Which CB was available in round two that you would have selected? This "should have had X in Round Y" is almost always a ridiculous argument unless you're in a team's war room.

So were Gronk and Collins, what's your point?

Wilson and Dobson combined should give us a little draft captial...you know the old two for one.

Lets just hope Terell Brown get a good Second opinion and the Team agrees and wait until he recovers. I would hate to see Logan First Down Ryan playing on the outsides. Ryan will not cut it on the outside in the Playoffs.

That doesn't answer my question.

Yeah, I wish Belichick wasn't so haphazard and disorganized in everything he does.

BB is definitely not perfect CB was a DEFINITE NEED in the Draft going in you don't draft a NEED poition in the Seventh Round.

Aaron Dobson and Tavon Wilson former 2nd Rounders.
Gronkowski, Rob. Collins, Jamie

And on the point that we should have drafted a CB earlier. Unless the team liked a CB for the second round they shouldn't have drafted one there. Teams that draft a certain position early, just because they need that position, are the teams that constantly suck because they never build a solid base in the team.

So which one would you have taken? There were five CBs picked in rounds two and three after Richards. Which one do you want? And which rookie are you giving up to take him?

So what CB was worth drafting in the 2nd round that went after the Patriots pick that would come in and be a legit #2 right now?

Ryan and Coleman have done okay. I just don't trust it to continue.

All you need is a serviceable vet opposite Butler. I think a trade can be swung for that. A few teams seasons are already over or close to. Give them a 4th for a 1 year rental and a 6th back.

Mathis would be an option

Mathis would be an option

Yep he is. Also there is a guy in KC I think. His name was mentioned in this thread.

For Mathis you just might need to give up a 6th cause he won't be back with them next year and they know it.

It almost certainly will not happen though until close to the trade deadline. Just how it has worked in the past for BB. I do believe something will happen though as the Pats the last few years have been active during the deadline.

The benefits for waiting to the deadline are..

A) More teams are willing to deal cause their seasons are over
B) Less games so they don't mind giving up the player and the value of the trade seems better.
C) Cost less against the cap for the team getting the trade
D) You cut down on the games any player you trade for needs to stay healthy.

So I don't expect a move till at least a week out from the deadline.

Wonder if butler/coleman can be this years asante/randall gay of 2004

Cornerback position in shambles ... This must be the New England Patriots.

How does allowing more than one injured player to return to their team without wasting a roster spot hurt things?

While I agree with you - indeed I think the rosters should simply be expanded some to account for injuries - there is the significant likelihood of outbreaks of short-term "Foxboro 'flu" as coaches game the system.
