Don't waste time on Earthwind. Where's Hank Poteat?

if greg schiano were still in tampa, i'd say tampa we have a problem (and give us your best cover corner for a bag of doritos).

I just looked back at that 2013 draft where Logan Ryan and Duron Harmon went in the 3rd round. There is literally no decent DB taken in the draft after them. Amazing. Neither safety or CB.

The other 3 positions are locked down and fine and they have players who can play slot and dime. They need a reliable CB2 who can play man and zone.

That is not rebuilding the secondary

Although his loss would be very worrisome, you are correct that we have good options elsewhere, particularly at safety (unlike some past years). Chung is playing well at SS and Richards has shown great promise. McCourtney is a fabulous cover safety. I don't have such a good feel for Harmon, but he seems to play pretty well most of the time as a cover safety.

I wonder if we have schemed to have McCourtney and Harmon back there as additional "cover" guys to "protect" our CB2, if Ryan or one of our new guys like Coleman could hold up?

Melvin. Or Coleman.

Not impressed with melvin's 3 cone drill lol. Does coleman have the make up speed to cover wrs on the outside? It wouldn't shock me if they brung fletcher back.

Melvin seems to be the faster player and can better match up with the taller WRs than Coleman.

I actually liked the way he played vs DAL and he played him on the outside. He did ok.

Logan Ryan has done well on the outside in recent games. We'll see how it goes in upcoming games.

Dallas with Romo and Bryant out didn't exactly have a fearsome pass offense, but Ryan played pretty well in that game.

Melvin has 4.45 speed and a 38" vertical. Different player. Hes a cover guy on the outside all the way.

He did pretty well vs Denver in 2013 with their #1 ranked offense of all time (referring to the home game.)

I've been a critic of Ryan due to his inconsistency, but he has played well this season so far.

I remember him getting roasted once Talib got side swiped by WW.

How much is Sean Smith owed from the Chiefs? Team going nowhere, just lost best player on O and I think Smith is in a contract year. May not cost much in terms of draft capital.

He would count $2.2m against the cap.
