I'm pretty sure it had something to do with Schiano supposedly knowing about the Sandusky abuse at Penn State.

I know he denies it, and was never convicted of anything, but I wish we'd stay far, far away from anyone even remotely associated w/the Sandusky era.

There's plenty of good coaching talent out there, as seen by BB picking one future head coach after another. Is Schiano really that much better than other options?

Doubt it. He's not worth associating the Penn State stain with the Pats.

It’s less egregious when considering that the #2 and #3 CBs ran 4.61 and 4.71 at their respective combines. Excessive man coverage would have just emphasized the lack of talent on that defense.
