I have a gut feeling this hire had something to do with BB's ultimate departure. A couple of days ago, there were rumors BB was willing/wanted to stay and even relegate personnel decisions. I think Kraft was trying to promote Mayo too high within the coaching tree, something that probably didn't sit right with BB. Ultimately after a couple of meetings, they two realized they will not be able to reach an agreement, and the rest is history.
I'm really intrigued about Kraft being so high up Mayo's ***. I just can't fathom how you make a 4-yr LB coach a head coach overnight, and without a GM and HC interview due diligence first, to boot.
