49ers and Jets make sense. I'm not sure about what the Eagles would be thinking, though. I'd think they'd want to avoid a Moss/Jackson locker room duo.

Eagles don't surprise me at all. They were on his short list of possible destinations when he initially became a FA in 08. They were also one of the teams that offered a 1 year deal along with the patriots prior to his retirement.

The niners have one of the worst WR corps in the league, so makes sense. But the jets are the jets. I don't see how Moss is a good fit for them with the Sanchize's arm strength or lack thereof coupled with a very old and volatile receiving corp. I think they'd be better served getting an elite possession receiver that isn't batsh*t crazy who doesn't have the propensity to zap their QB's confidence(Santonio) and can to play to sanchez's strengths which are the short throws. They need to get young and cheap with guys who will buy in and can be influenced positively. That team is another 8 win season from imploding.

I would love to see him back, and given that his issues here were primarily with BoB, I wouldn't be surprised if Josh McD isn't advocating for him. Having said that, I would welcome him back as the number three WR, behind Welker in the slot and a number 1 WR on the outside (Lloyd??).

If that were to happen, he would have to come in a) or a low, incentive-laden salary and b) the team parts ways with Branch.

Not sure either of those would happen.

It still blows my mind that anyone can dislike this guy after all he has done for the team. His last full season with us he had over 1200 yards and 13 TDs, and in 2010 he was on pace for ~600 yards and 12 TDs despite the fact that Brady had stopped looking in his direction. I don't think physical talent was ever the issue, and assuming he hasn't only sat on his couch for the past year I think he still has the capability to give us a couple 1000 yard seasons. Jerry Rice was doing it at age 38.

The only issue was his attitude, and even then I don't think he meant harm. He was just a guy that had some obvious insecurities, but I have no to reason to believe he hasn't realized how good he had it here by now. Will he get signed? Who knows, probably not, but I'd welcome him back with open arms.

I admit I was never a big fan of Moss, but you are too far the other way. Physical talent was an issue. He just couldn't fight for balls like he used to. In 2007, even if he was triple covered, he would come down with the ball more often than not. In 2010, if he was in tight single coverage, there was little chance he would come down with the ball. He declined quite a bit. Cromartie beat him like a rented mule in that Jets' game and I didn't think Cromartie had good coverage on a lot of plays.

I'm a HUGE Moss fan, but if we were ever going to bring him back, one would've thought midseason of 2011 would've been the time. It was clear Ocho wasn't a fit here and we had nobody else to stretch the field. If we didn't bring him back then, why now when he's a year older and slower. There seems to be much better options right now to upgrade at WR.

Tom Curran reported that Brady did. The question is whether Curran really had inside information to the fact or some speculation.

As for the BoB blowout, reports were that it was mostly Moss' fault and he got upset that he was phased out of the game in the first half of the Miami game. I doubt Belichick enjoyed that either and probably does not want a guy who is going to divide the lockerroom if he isn't getting catches. But the reason why Moss was not getting catches was because he was not fighting for balls and was dropping a lot of passes.

Moss' problem in 2010 wasn't his speed, it was he lost his physicality. He looked great in training camp in shorts and horrible once the season started and he was getting manhandled by CBs.

A team that was among the top offenses in 2011 should not reek of desperation,Just add a YOUNG speedster in FA not named Tiquan or go find one in the draft.
