    Moss’ 23 TD year was better than any year any other player in Patriot history ever had besides Brady.

    That alone gets him in the discussion. He was THE reason the Patriots went 16-0 and are the only team to accomplish that. He lit up Gillette like no player I’ve ever seen.

    And the best part is that Kraft and Belichick love Randy. So I’m hoping they allow him a special place in the Patriots HOF.

    Mike Reiss wrote this article for a reason and he’s on the HOF selection committee....hmmm

    Because of when the PAts HOF was instituted there is a big backlog of Pre Dynasty Patriots to be considered.

    NO<NO<NO. One trick pony, blocking was maybe getting in the way, quit on the team. Good receiver, NOT worthy of the Patriots Hall of Fame.

    If you played in the Brady era and you don’t have a ring you likely have a long wait. I think Moss deserves to be in the Patriots HOF for what he did in his short time here, just a long wait to get there.

    There will be a lot in Pats HOF that are not pro football HOF. Moss may be a rare one of Pro football HOF and not the team HOF he set records with.

    There's just too many players who did more overall for the franchise who would have to get in before him.

    Without getting into the old timers, Seymour, Vrabel, Harrison, Wilfork, Mankins, Vinatieri, Welker, Koeppen, Gronk, Edelman, McCourty, Hightower, Mayo, White, Branch......and that's without getting into the fringe with guys like Milloy, Johnson, Pfeiffer, Graham, Chung, Neal, Warren.........

    Orr and Brady are the best Boston examples that I've witnessed of greatness on the field combined with character off of it. The only difference between the two is the respect they were given by their league's management.

    A few comments on previous comments.

    • I'm against opening the Pats HoF to more than the present allotment of one per year. That is plenty; if anything it is too much. Would we be okay with 32, or even 16 or 12 people getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame annually? Let's avoid the possibility of it becoming a watered down, meaningless award.

    • For those making the comparison of Randy Moss to Leon Gray: Gray was selected by the veterans committee, who can add one person every five years. It's almost a different category, put in place to honor those that many fans who vote for the Pats HoF never saw play, and as a result are overlooked.

    • I believe Moss' on the field accomplishments should be the primary, if not sole consideration. What happened that resulted in his being traded away should not be a deciding factor.

    • That being said, you cannot ignore the effort, productivity, accomplishments and achievements of those who were with the Patriots for a longer period of time. I would not be able to justify Moss over Vince Wilfork, Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour, Mike Vrabel, etc.

    • I think that Randy Moss will eventually be enshrined into the Pats HoF. However, it will take some time - probably decades from now, via the same Veterans Committee that just got Leon Gray into the Hall.

    • One final thought: if Randy Moss gets in, shouldn't Curtis Martin as well?

    He definitely earned his HoF nod but not a Patriots HoF nod. He didn’t start or end his career here and his last season was a bit bumpy as he left.

    I'd put Moss in after Gronk on this list, make Mayo, Nink and Mankins wait a couple years.

    A big point of the Hall is a history museum. I'd want to know about Moss as part of Patriots' history.

    I have no problem if Randy were to be inducted but I think it should be hard. Personally I'm probably going to be voting for someone else each year but the right year could arrive where he's the top choice.

    Right now I would vote Seymour, Vrabel, and Harrison before him. I'd probably vote a few older players before him too like Julius Adams or Francis.

    New players will emerge soon too like Vince and many more from the current dynasty. But for argument sake let's assume the next 4 are Seymour, Vrabel, Harrison, and Vince and no new candidate is eligible for that 5th year then Moss could slip in. Right now I think that would be Gronk's year though so it will be hard for Moss to find his crack. And I'm sure I'm not thinking of other soon to be eligible players so please take this as a hypothetical.

    Comments on some of the comments I definitely don't want 2 a year but maybe let the senior committee vote more than one in every 5 years.

    2 a year would oversaturate. Even 1 a year would probably be too much if it weren't for the double dynasties about to come up for elections.

    And yes I think Curtis deserves similar consideration to Moss. Going to the Jets is a bad look that should cost him a bit. For that I'd pick Moss over him but similar if the right year were there where no title holders were candidates then maybe I'd vote for him.

    If Randy came back to the Pats after the Vikings cut him in 2010, I'd vote him in tomorrow simply for the "The Pats traded Randy Moss to the Vikings for a 3rd round pick and Randy Moss" jokes.
