like i said to the bronco fans when Darrent passed. im gonna preach right now and damn right im fking pissed.

WHY. I ask WHY..do we mistreat players? WHY..do we bash players who might have been a bust in your eyes. WHY?

Do you realize that most of the players are just happy to EVER make it into NFL. Football aint an easy game..pro football is 1 of the hardest things to play. It requires repetition..work, effort, drive. It hurts me when a player gets bashed saying he sucks..get him out of here. PEOPLE DONT REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU APPRECIATE SOMETHING UNTIL ITS GONE.

Im gonna be a man and admit that i have said some negative about Marquise not being able to get on the field. God will punish me for that one day. But i have always had the biggest respect for players..starters/bench or cuts. Im glad Marquise got his championship at LSU. Im glad for anyone who ever wins anything because let me tell you boys. Winning aint easy. Im glad he got a ring. Without him..we wouldnt have won the SB. We wouldnt be as good year in and year out. Without Marquise Hill and other players, we wouldnt be as good as we have been.

Why are Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, Green as good as they are? You think they were just that talented? NO. How do they prepare each week. Its reptition on the practice field. Who did they go up against besides offense? Each other. Hill made the people better. Beisel made some of our players better. Anyone on the practice field is a major contributor because thats where it starts.

I know i may have screwed up on some of the things i put above(im in tears..its hard for me) but the point is. Appreciate every player..respect every player. One day..when they are gone, your gonna feel like an idiot for saying anything negative and hating. What these athletes have done to make it into NFL is something some of us will never get to witness because 1) We arent as talented. 2) We dont have the balls to put in the amount of work athletes put in and 3) Football aint for everyone. It aint easy

Marquise has never been in trouble. Hes been a model citizen..hes helped around the community here, and in Louisiana. This man is what parents try to raise their children to be. They want them to be succesfull in life. Marquise is successfull because he fulfilled his dreams of playing in NFL..winning 2 big championships. Parents try to raise their children to be respectful and stay out of trouble. This man..worked hard to get to where he is. I think we should all appreciate him as a CHARACTER first..and as a PLAYER second...because theres things far more important than football.

WEEI and all the substitute hosts in today have barely stopped talking about Clemens, the Yankees, and the Celtics to mention Hill. Disgraceful. Burton and Johnson probably did the best job when they talked about it this morning. But DeOssie and Stearns haven't said a damn thing.

If he'd been arrested,though-different story .
Disgraceful is right.

Life is God's gift to us. What we do with our lives is our gift to God.

Rest in peace, Marquise.

It's an absolute disgrace, Pats1. I first heard about this from a fellow patsfan, and I turn on our so called "Local Sports Radio Station" to get an update and all they are talking about are the stinkin Red Sox and that loser Yankee team. Don't get me wrong I love the Sox, but I expect better than that from our local radio station. Thank God for you guys on line or I would know nothing about this.

Shame on WEEI and ESPN, IMHO.

This is just awful news. The kid was so young. It's just TRAGIC.

From the heart,Remix. Nice post.

We're hurting in New Orleans, as well. He was well known and was considered a top pick out of DeLaSalle High School, which is located in Uptown New Orleans and we all know about his LSU Days..... http://www.saintsreport.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30860

thank you guys for the support. I know its rough for you guys aswell..a local guy with such character. Especially after the Hurricane..for some of the people in LA, this hurts just as much

He died a hero, sacrificing his own life to save someone else, it doesn't get any more noble than that.

R.I.P. Marquise Hill, I will pray for you and those close to you

Re: SERIOUS NEWS: Marquise Hill missing after jetski accident

Not for nothing, but he was going to get cut this offseason. This makes the defensive line depth chart easier to manage, and is good news for Kareem Brown.

Don't pretend that you all loved him. He was a second round bust, and the subject of many fat jokes on this board. We all knew what he was, and there is no use trying to re-write history. He sucked yesterday, and being dead today doesn't change that.

RIP Marquise Hill--maybe you'll do better in heaven's D-line rotation.

I feel sorrier for you than I do for him and his family>.

I agree. Sportsbash just started on ESPN. Lots of Kobe talk.

Yes it's rough. He was spending his offseason in New Orleans to help family and friends with their rebuilding. I was lucky enough to be at that game when he and the Tigers won that National Championship, and I was pleased for him to add a Super Bowl ring. Good guy, role model, team player, and he died a hero. He'll be missed.

New Orleanians and LSU Tigers are sharing your pain today, Patriots. Prayers are going out to the family and friends left behind.

RIP Marquise.

Taxplaya, very rude and uncalled for. Hill was a person, not just a football player. His struggles as a player are irrelevant.

IMO, I never want to see you post here again.

An absolutely brutal story. Seemed like a good guy, and so frustrating to have died so senselessly. Hopefully people will take a lesson from it in terms of water-safety, life-preservers, etc... but that hardly merits discussion right now. Right now it's all about his friends and family - and that fiancee of his, God, what heartbreak.

RIP, Marquise. We hardly knew ye.

Thanks to you and all the Saints fans who were kind enough to post links and info as it was breaking. People who did what he did don't come around often-his death is a tragic loss.

is there a guy on this board by the name of PatsRus435 or something like that?

i was looking at saints board and they said a guy by that name on ESPN board said something like "he was a bum of a player..this is a sports board. i didnt know him so forget him"

if a guy by that name is on the board..lemme know. im gonna go nuts
