Pretty sure this has something to do with it. Not a bribe per say, but an opportunity to see what Cardona and the Navy are getting by letting him play. I assume he was impressed as he should be.

Technically, an ensign is an officer. He graduated from the Naval Academy.

FYI Cardona is stationed in Newport, I believe at the Naval Academy Prep School.. so I guess they are granting him some leeway in his assignment.. win, win for both sides.

Yea I implied that there was a bit of a question of ethics. I don't know much about him but in reading his background Mabus seems like a straight laced guy.

I bet out of courtesy they invited him down.
