Props to Dumervil for a clean hit

It was a vicious hit. Totally uncalled for.

What? Don't be a homer, man.

Dumervil had a nice hit, props to him. Even though, I'd argue anyone could have done it, since he was untouched, but still, good hit.

What should he have done differently? Stopped in front of Brady and tapped him on the shoulder so that he would have time to brace himself for the hit?

All this being said, I about **** my pants when I saw him get clobbered like that. But props to our boy, Brady for getting right back up. He's one tough SOB.

Too short.

for those of us who spend time in the draft subforum, we've learned how picky BB is on DE. They've got to be taller than the 6'2" Elvis.

Dumervil is 5'11 3/8" per his combine/pro-day. The 6'2 was the fictitious number on his college roster..

I think the flack jacket went a long way in cushioning the blow. I too was nervous seeing the helmet-on-forearm blow.

What I really want to know is whose fault it was letting him get by. As far as I can tell, Solder screwed up taking the inside guy. Elvis came on the outside and Awesome Brian couldn't get there--he had a bad angle--in time to prevent the QB from getting killed.

This was a good scheme if I'm right against the rookie. He better learn not to flub up like that again. Marcus looked awfully good as a RT.

Not sure why Solder took the inside man in that coverage and left Waters to try and back-door to block Dumervil.. It will definitely be a point of discussion in the film reviews.

Actually, I pretty much nailed it.

I said the Broncos would be able to run on the Pats.

They did, to the tune of 252 yds.

I said Tebow would be able to throw on the Pats. He did, and most commentators said he took another step forward as a passer.

And for awhile, the Pats looked to be in trouble. (Don't believe me, check your own 1st qtr game thread.)

I said it would all come down to the Broncos' ability to contain Brady (they couldn't).

I also said repeatedly that the Broncos would need to hold the Pats to under 24 pts to win.

Man, am I good or what?

Didn't count on the turnovers.

But the Pats came to play and showed why they're still one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the League year in, and year out. Even without the turnovers, I think the Pats were the better team. Possible we could've won with some help, but NE didn't give it to us.

Kudos.

Hope to see y'all in the playoffs. Not sure the outcome would be any different, but like I also said, I expected 6 wins this year, and we still have a better than 50-50 shot at the playoffs, so I'm reasonably happy.

Troll out.

No, he didn't. He is the most inaccurate NFL passer I have EVER seen. Hsnds down. Even when he completes a pass, it requires the WR to stop in his tracks, bend down to catch it, or jump up leaving his body exposed. It's hilarious when the media tries to claim how he throws inaccurately on purpose to avoid INTs...Uh, what?

He made 1 or 2 solid throws yesterday, tops.

Other than that, he was the inaccurate joke of a passer with awful mechanics I expected to see.

If I'd been cheering on Tom Brady for the last 10 years, I'd probably feel the same way.

With Tebow, you have to look at where he was just 8 weeks ago. (Well, you don't have to, but just for the sake of discussion.)

Anytime the Broncos can get near the 200 yd mark, and he completes at or above 50%, it's good news.

Won't be enough to be serious contenders, but right now, we're looking at improvement.

He's gone from 3rd string, to serviceable in half a season.

An off-season and training camp as the starter should make a big difference.

Great hit by Dumervil there. I like Tom terrific's toughness even better.

Tebow played pretty well. The Broncos defense, coaching and special teams lost that game for them. Dawkins being out certainly didn't help Denver's defense.

And that's supposed to be a good thing? I agree he's throwing better than he did weeks ago, but that doesn't make it good. He still sucks, I guess he just doesn't suck QUITE as much.

Really? Out of all the "good plays" Tebow made, how many of them were with his legs, rather than his arm? Answer? All of them.

Case in point, the dude's a FB lining up out of position as a QB.

You should have watched the game.

NFL Videos: QB Tebow to WR Thomas, 39-yd, pass

Absolutely perfect deep throw.

And NFL Videos: Tebow saves the safety.

How many QBs can make this play? It shows up in the stats as an incomplete pass, but holy cow, that was remarkable. Yes, it was a great play with his legs, but also his strength, and it was a tremendously gutsy and heads-up play.

Absolutely it's a good thing for someone almost everyone projected as a 2nd or 3rd round pick and a 2-year project.

Like I said, it's all about making progress. Once he has a full off-season and TC with the first team, I expect a huge leap forward. If not, then no one will be able to say he wasn't given a fair shot.

I don't care for Tebow one bit, but the pass where he hit Thomas deep was a thing of beauty and wasn't not because of his legs..

His receiver was basically uncovered, but yea, he's definitely making some strides (even though contrary to the nonsense Phil Simms was babbling, his mechanics are STILL just awful). I was impressed by some of the shorter outs he threw that were pinpoint accurate and would have been pick sixes if not.

But then when the fourth quarter rolled around and everyone knew the pass was coming, he looked like a bad college QB again--unable to make any throws that were even close.

Dumervil was like "POW!"
and Brady was all:
Look at the surprise in his eyes and those raised eyebrows.
Props to Brady for hanging onto the ball (and Edelperson on that punt he should have fair-catch'ed)

leading with the crown of his helmet into the chest. Want to say I vaguely remember a few Patriots getting fined for that
