Would love it to be Lynch but wouldn't be shocked if it was Doug Martin (especially if Bill gets him thrown in as part of a V-Jax deal).

I was a huge Doug Martin fan in 2012 and thought he was a rare RB worth a late 1st round pick. But his production has been declining precipitously:

2012: 319 rushes, 1454 yards (4.6 YPC), 11 rushing TDs, 49 receptions, 472 receiving yards, 1926 yards from scrimmage.
2013: 127 rushes in 6 games, 456 yards (3.6 YPC), 1 rushing TD, 12 receptions, 66 receiving yards.
2014: 48 attempts in 4 games, 139 yards (2.9 YPC), 1 rushing TD, 7 receptions, 55 receiving yards.

Very, very worrisome.

More of a case of the media tying need with league connections about pats being interested. Hard to believe anything right now.

I saw Zach Stacey mentioned this morning, he's a good "get what's there" guy on a cheap contract. Although I'd like to see Gray get some carries today to see what might be there first.

blount or lynch...

either one will do.

Lynch, hands down. Deceptive. Power. Fast. He always run....angry.

But, if we can get back Blount, for a 7th rounder, it would be ok, too.

Forget about doug martin. A 1-hit wonder.

These are the 2015 NFL Draft Picks currently owned by the New England Patriots:

1st Round (Assigned)
2nd Round (Assigned)
3rd Round (Assigned)
4th Round (Assigned)
4th Round (Via TB – Logan Mankins)
5th Round (Assigned)
7th Round (Akeem Ayers)

The following pick have been traded away:

6th Round (Akeem Ayers)
7th Round (Greg Salas)

Doug Martin maybe? They say lynch isn't going to be traded before deadline.

Lynch was a troubled employee while with the Bills, now that legacy continues with the Seahawks.... why take a chance?? Does anyone think that the issues he has had will just disappear??

Dillon 2.0

Lynch isn't on trading block according a a few people. So don't expect a trade for him.

The Hawks reportedly told Wilson to slow down on the endorsement deals!? Seriously?
I saw that. If he filmed them all in the offseason why do they care? These guys have such a limited time to earn why try and restrict that?

The New England Patriots are searching NFL rosters for backfield help and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are fielding offers for running back Doug Martin, making for an intriguing possible marriage of supply and demand, according to Doug Kyed of NESN.com.

The Patriots have begun scouring the NFL landscape for a running back to bolster their backfield for the remainder of the season and into the playoffs, NBC Sports' ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reported.

--> Please no. At least bring back Blount. We need a bruiser, not a runt.

martin was good a few years ago, then fell off the planet.
the peyton hillis effect.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bucs have been receiving calls about their 2012 1st round draft pick.

Doug Martin has struggled since his rookie season. He has yet to run for more than 50 yards in a game in 2014. With Charles Sims set to return from injured reserve soon, Martin has become expendable.

The Patriots seem like a logical partner with their need at running back and their connections with the Bucs. Other teams that might be interested in Doug Martin could be the Raiders, Bills, and Ravens.

The Bucs would probably only be able to fetch a 4th or 5th round pick in return for Doug Martin.

The Falcons are now 2-6, I would inquire about Stephen Jackson, he would be a great fit!

He is stil ridiculously buff, still fast and can catch the ball out of the backfield.

could be a case of a player needing a change of scenery. I would imagine playing for such a losing organization would dampen any players enthusiasm

I don't know. There could be lots of reasons. I could be interested in Martin for the right price, but his dramatic falloff is somewhat worrisome.
