Pre Game Thread- We are on to the Cowboys

I hope we can run the ball effectively. We can't afford to try a shootout against their power offense. We need to prevent early scores from them

I think we'll be able to move the ball on Dallas, we'll need to score TD's and not FG'S though. I am impressed with their offense, they should be undefeated. I think Bill will put a game plan together that will slow them down. We are better coached and if we are in a close game, hopefully that will be the difference. We can't fumble or turn the ball over though!!!
To me this is the exact opposite gameplan with tampa: try to stop the run game first.

They're averaging 170 rush yards a game and Zeke+pollard are running at will. Dallas still has a top 10 passing offense, so it's not like it shuts them down completely on O.

Whether we have the horses in the front 7 to stop a top 2 rush offense is the question, but that's where you start.

west coast offense with slanta and stuff is always painful for BB. mcCarthy has coached well vs BB albeit he has had rodgers. The biggest issue is that we cant stop the run right now that consistently and zeke is as good as theycome

regardless of the fumbling issue. he is our best running back by far
Agree that he's our best RB. I am a Stevenson fanboy but of course, it'll take a while to see what he's got.

Ivan Fears needs the Klingon Pain Stick drill for this grouping, the literal jackhammers aren't working

Brady was off though. Hopefully Dak is similar.
Is the better defensive gameplan to concentrate on defending the pass or the run vs the Cowboys though? The Pats went light against the Bucs and knew they could pin their ears back (no escapability with TB). They won't be able to do the same against Dallas for both their run game and Dak's ability to get outside the pocket.

Huge test. The front seven held Houston to 2.9 p/rush. I wager that was the gameplan - heavier front (Barmore played some DE yesterday - Davis and Gochaux rotating heavily to stay fresh) and make Mills beat them (almost did). That approach also slows the pass rush - a lot. Is that an approach against the Cowboys?

This looks a little off because Mac was already KILLING the blitz his first 2 games. The issue has been the bad OLine skewing every deep passing stat.

.

I'm not sold on Dallas. Ultimately I believe that their defense is going to crumble at the worst possible time. You will get away with a mediocre D against the Giants and Washington in October.

It won't happen when you face the Rams, Packers, or even the Bucs in January.

I can see Belichick outcoaching McCarthy. Will it be enough?

I've got this being a one score game either way.

Dallas 35-14 in a route. Way too many playmakers over there. we give up the early lead vs an explosive team like Dallas, were cooked. We lack the downfield passing game to mount comebacks. Idiot punters, lucky penalties allowed us to come back vs CFL Houston

Damien is day to day…. Wonder how we play that with dallas having such a good run d and weaker secondary. If it’s gonna look anything like the bucs game id just sit him.

Enough with the fumbling.

Pats will need another rain storm to have a chance to hang with Dalls.

They're a more well rounded version of Tampa without as many injuries on defense.

Dallas is absolutely legit.

I’m more impressed by Pollard, seems to have better burst.

Dak is so lucky to have big, fast YAC monsters like Amari Cooper and the highly talented Cee Dee Lamb. Would love to see how many more games Mac could win with weapons like those. Bourne and Agholor would be an afterthought on this Cowboys offense

Houston rushed us with a fossilized version of Mark Ingram and a version of David Johnson who is better off playing BINGO at old timers night

pollard and Elliot are different monsters. These guys can run, explode, and separate

I've been watching Dallas closely this season ,(combo of networks and fantasy football). They are the real deal..very deep on offense. 2 tightends who make plays...2 very good wrs and one of the best 1-2 combos at rb we've seen. Dak is at an MVP level. They can score very fast and can also lean on the run/screen game and choke out games that way.

The positives are they aren't a good road team and the defense can be had.

I think the key will be Time of possession. Our run game has to be at its best.

If the trend continues we should see a better version of the team Sunday. It seems we are going to be a team that plays up and down to it's competition.
