Pre Game Thread- Pats @ Browns

Some thoughts from BB:

One thing I notice with Harris is that he doesn't look lost in the passing game. He can run a route to the flat or run a angle route over the middle looking smooth at both too. Rham 150 - Kevin Harris 100 against the Browns who needs a Nick Chubb.

Is he the new Chatham? And will the famous patsfans Chatham group text chat led by Luuked & both bruins be replaced with a lazar run minion brigade

Nah... Lazar seems like a genuinely nice guy, unlike the Tool, but there's now a conflict of interest whenever he uses adjectives to describe his fellow employees at the Pats... Nothing personal against him or anything, but that's just the way it is.

Maybe that is true but I haven't seen that yet. Even Unfiltered has found criticisms to throw at players whether that's "The Good, the Bad and the Injured" or in articles after the game.

Tough break coming off his most disruptive game of the season, but if he can't go I'm not too worried about it. This is going to be a run-heavy defensive gameplan, and that's not his bread and butter.

Can we see a repeat standout performance from the Defense or will the sputtering offense put us in a bad position on the road?

I feel like we're about equally as bad as the Browns, but our offense is really bad so unless we get more defensive touchdowns, I don't see us cracking 25+ points which is what we're going to need to win.

Nick Folk will be our leading scorer again.

Nick Chubb is gonna have a field day against our defense as we watch Devin Lloyd have a standout season for the Jaguars instead of us, but gee golly we got an offensive guard in round 1!

I'm gonna hazard we lose a close game on the road 24-22 because we don't score enough TDs in the redzone and Nick Chubb easily runs for over 100 against our run D.

Patriots have given up a total of 644 rushing yards for an average of over 128 yards per game through 5 played ranked at 22nd overall in the NFL.

Stats w/o context are meaningless.

Saying the defenses are equally bad is just dumb. 98 PA < 125 PA. The Pats just blanked what was the HIGHEST scoring offense in the league. Pats held the Lions RBs to 3.9 YPC. That's a good incremental improvement.

Despite being ranked 21st for run defense, they've only given up 2 Rushing TDs on the season.

I love how you bash the Pats defense and ignore the horrible run defense of the Browns. The Browns have the 26th Run Defense having given up 691Yards on 130 carries. They've also given up 8 Rushing TDs on the season.

Browns are giving up 138 rushing yards per game. And 1.6 Rushing TD per game.

Have you looked at Ekeler's stats prior to the Browns game where he put up a 10.81 YPC? Ekeler was averaging 3.1 YPC going into the game against the Browns.

Now compare that to Stevenson.

Chubb is the best RB in the league currently. But stop pretending like we don't have an RB at all. Stevenson is a very good RB.

Yes, the Pats are having Injury issues at QB. Jones with the High Ankle Sprain and Hoyer with that serious concussion. Zappe played well last week. We can only hope he starts this week to give Jones another week to heal.

If a tree falls in the forest with nobody there, does it still make a sound?
It was Uche's best game of the season so far...whether that's good enough is another subject. Injuries aren't going to help him obviously. Ouchie Uche.

And Sony was the Standard for pass blocking when he was here? I thought that was James White?

White was one of the best. Sony wasn't at White's level, but Sony COULD pass block.

Pass blocking Scale:: 0-10. 10 = best. 0 = What's pass blocking?

K. Faulk = 10
White = 9
Michel = 6 (when drafted)
Chubb= 0 (when Drafted)

Brown Defense just got a little lighter Clowney and Ward both ruled out.

Regarding Clowney's availability someone said in a tweet "Damn… clowney is really making money being a part-Timer this yr".

Evan has pointed out flaws with players as well since he's moved to the team. People assume he's only going to report homerism since the move...but that's just not the case...he continues to call it as he sees it. The Uncle Dugg narrative might need a break due to his performance.
The "Uncle Dugg" BS that Stone started the day Dugger was drafted should have ended before last year. Stone just can't ever admit to being wrong. Just like he's not admitted to being wrong on Onwenu.

Hmm.. Maybe the Patriots changed their mind on cutting Gutierrez and cut Vizcaino instead.. I'll have to reach out..
This was yesterday but still...you might be right.

The more I dig into this matchup the more I like our odds

So we drafted a pass blocking running back in round 1 when we already had a much better one on the team? Yeah seems logical

We could have had a generational workhorse elite runner in the backfield for the next 5 years. All we had to do was choose the Georgia starter instead of the backup.

Just like you can’t ever admit Belichick is wrong sometimes. Hmm double standards
