Jordan Poyer is really good. And he’ll be playing Sunday. With a vengeance.

I believe his replacement is the guy we’re all praying for.

Hamlin was Micah Hyde's replacement. They only have 1 FS left. Their nickel CB may be in concussion protocol.

Game Preview: Patriots at Bills

Good morning everyone~ tentatively, this is the schedule for today, we'll see what happens and keep you posted:

We did Stars too. And others. It is all healthy for the kids, just a lot of money when you add it all up.
Was Ginger running it when your kids played?

Yea we are/were an FC Boston/Stars family. I certainly don't miss shelling out the club $ for the older 2.

I'm hopeful for my youngest. She is a sophomore. She's the best of the 3. DII or maybe a non-descript D1 program is her potentional. Whatever..
We're a soccer family as well. My older one played in the DA an age group up. We had a long road to drive for practices.

I loved the DA because our club had a luxury bus and they'd take 3 teams with them on the road. All transport, hotel and food was paid for.

Younger one is with the same club, but now that there's no DA, I've kept her on the team that plays in the midwest league (all games within 3 hours) rather than make the long drives for practice. She was invited to play in GA (which is the girls version of MLS Next) but given the extreme travel of that league, we didn't see the point.

I have to say that I've had 2 conversations recently that were eye openers about these clubs. I always said to parents that D1 was a pipe dream for the vast majority of these girls. Now that they are juniors and seniors, however, I'm really shocked to see a lot of them go D1. One of the HS seniors got a full ride to Ohio State, and I thought that's great, but I was shocked that she was a starter, scored multiple goals, and became an All-B1G as a freshman. What I'm trying to say is that I thought the skill level required would be much higher than it actually is.

Second conversation was with one of our club coaches who I've known since before my daughter joined the club. He was a Eredivisie player who has a UEFA Pro license and he's now a D1 head coach. When I told him my surprise and observations about all these girls going D1, he scoffed. He said, yeah, we're giving them a $2k break on their tuition. I asked him what he meant. He said 5 of the 20+ girls are getting scholarships. He also said his recruiting budget is so small he takes some girls sight unseen, based on videotapes. He uses the club travel games, showcases, to scout for his college players. He said on the boys' side, the HC of this D1 school has grabbed kids out of MLS academies sight unseen, just because they were the property of MLS clubs. They have sat on the bench without a minute of gametime the last 2 seasons.

Soccer is truly a mess in the US.

Buffalo Bills tickets in the secondary market are going up fast. They've doubled in price the last day.

I think there's going to be a big wave of support in the stands for this game.

Nope, not "conflating" anything, just pegging your agenda for what it is. And now you're moving the goalposts. You invoked this still-unexplained "victory laps" canard unrelated to anything I posted and provide stats offering "added perspective" on Mac Jones' subpar season for ... WHAT? For the benefit of whom, or what argument? Oh yeah, your flimsy telltale defense of the Veneclown, chairman of the Mac Jones Haters *********** Club.
If you weren't so defensive then we wouldn't still be having this discussion. I made an obvious and uncontroversial observation. You're trolling someone (it doesn't matter that it was venecol) about their dissatisfaction with a player. No coincidence that you're doing it after a win. I just think that's a bit shortsighted when the broader view reveals extremely modest returns on a first round franchise investment. That's it. I'm hardly pushing an agenda. I suppose you feel real stats represent an agenda when they don't support your argument.

I have absolutely no idea how the Bills play the game this Sunday and the speculation around Buffalo is whether the Bills may forfeit.

The team isn’t practicing. They’re spending practice time having team meetings to work through trauma.

If this game is cancelled, it won't go down as a forfeit (an L) for either team. The game will be wiped off the schedule. Meaning the Patriots will finish the regular season at 8-8 and they will await the results of the Miami vs NYJ game and the Pittsburgh vs Cleveland game. Miami would be in a win-and-in situation. Pittsburgh gets in with a win and a Miami loss. Patriots get in with a Miami AND Pittsburgh loss. NYJ and Cleveland have already been eliminated.

It'd be hard for the Bills to focus on our game Sun, but it'd be even crazier if they forfeited (what other options are there?)
I guess there's only been 1 "unofficial" forfeit in history - 1921
If the Chiefs win, it may not change much, and they'd just agree to be the #2 or #3 seed.
Either way, the Bills would have to play again the next week - whether hosting the Pats or Ravens in the 1st round.

Agree. Organized soccer in this country is a train wreck.

I never thought in a million years my youngest had the pot'l to play D1 until what you just mentioned and the fact this past year she dominated 3 kids who are going to D1 schools (2 years older) next year. Historically shes competed hard vs ECNL kids (she was NPL but was off last year) but never at that level consistently. This past fall shes really taken her game to the next level. If she gets a scholarship, great. She doesn't know if she wants to play collegiately and that is totally fine. Shes still just a little kid

why are there so many concussions in girls soccer in the US? I wonder, because i play soccer for 20 years myself now and no single player i can remember had a concussion. Is it related to head balls?

Feels like today would have to be the day they make an actual announcement confirming whether this game happens or not, right? They’ve said that week 18 schedule remains as is, but I feel like we need confirmation from the teams and league about whether or not this game is actually going to happen. Can’t be Thursday and not know if you’re prepping for Sunday

that would really stink... but it'd be a sure way the league (Goodell) could screw the Pats again - with a positive PR bonus.
so, either we lose the opportunity to play for our chance (and count on the Browns & Jets - who are both toast)
or, we get good news about Hamlin waking up healthy - and play the game against the most motivated team in history...
lose/lose

The Patriots would object to that and rightfully so. I think the game is going ahead no matter what. Whether the Bills starters can play the whole game, part of the game or not at all is a different question.

Obviously that wont happen. The Bengals-Bills game could get cancelled. No chance the Patriots-Bills game gets cancelled. Only way the game doesn't get played is if the Bills forfeit.

Interesting that the Ravens Bengals game is showing as TBD on the schedule but ours is set.
