Pre-Free Agency 2023

Once they tag a player and he signs it, they can't sign him to a new deal until the following season.

Frankly I hope they do sign Brown to a stupid high deal, he's not as good as the deal he'll likely get and I want the Pats to target their RT, Andrew Wylie, the guy quietly had a great season and played really well in the Super Bowl... he's also a free agent. They could get him much cheaper and plug him into the RT spot opposite Trent, as well as draft a guy for the future in the first.
This seems like a no brainer. I hope the Pats have interest in signing him (Wylie).

Thats a fair point... Maybe i should have it screams to me etc etc... I think they will work towards a long term deal... instead of holding the tag over his head like the Sword of Damocles, to make negotiations less rancorous...
There are definitely a couple possibilities. One could be that they didn’t need to tag him because they expect to sign him long term. Another is they didn’t tag him because they don’t want to pay him at that amount and were afraid he would accept it. I’d say it’s probably 50/50.

I hope we sign him so I want him to be done in KC, but I’m not sure either of our opinions are more likely than the other.

I love the sound of that: now I can sleep better no way Hopkins is passing up an opportunity to play with Mahomes over the alternatives.
Just saw that robbie Anderson will be released.. would you make a run at him?
Him on one side Thornton on the other.... elite speed

I don't know what to think of this?... so took him 10 years in the league to show he could play the qb position?..
I look at it and see the going rate for an average qb...

Guess your right. Hey kudos to him! Anyway I've asked about robbie Anderson expected to be released... interested?

Man quarterback salaries are getting out of control. Now $40+million for average QBs.

But it's going to be a case where QBs and receivers take up more of the cap at the expense of other players. You'll have guys making $100k and some QB making $50million

These QB/WR Salaries combined do not seem sustainable, lots of offense, but not much left for defense.

Exactly right look at geno Smith.. 1st round pick ended up a career back up..

Had a great year after 10 years in the league and still made a big pay day.. Be it Mac or whoever else if it doesn't work out the patriots are going to have to pay!!!!!!

Sources told NBC Sports Edge's Matthew Berry the Broncos are "quietly shopping" WR Courtland Sutton.

Berry went on to say, "if they get a decent offer, they would move him." Sutton is currently under team control through the 2024 season at a non-prohibitive $15.5 million annual average, meaning this might be a case of failing to meet team expectations in chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson. Sutton held the lowest separation at target value of any primary pass-catcher that Wilson has played with over the previous five seasons in 2022.

Sutton is another guy I'd put in that Deandre Hopkins camp where it's a trade that could conceivably happen. The Broncos have paid all his guaranteed money so all they would be paying for his his salary. If the Broncos simply want a salary dump they could move him for a reasonably low pick. If so the Pats could pay him at his current rate or rework his deal to make it more palatable.

This means, to me, that they want to hold onto Jerry Juedy

Dude is a loose cannon. Pass.
There is alot of loose cannons or perceived loose cannons in the league. The guys been on loosing teams his entire career.. maybe he's toted of loosing..he's still talented and young if he could come in and get with the program he's a guy that can definitely make plays on the outside..
