No Thomas had a great IMMEDIATE impact in 2007. It was universally considered a great FA signing that first year. After that, not so much. I believe he turned into a bad seed because (1) he didn't like what he was asked to do within the defense, and (2) he no longer wanted to play football. IIRC, he never played in the league after that 2009 season.stir not the bitterness of our
that one was a true case of "Oh what could have been"
.
Thats where the bitterness comes... We saw what could have been...After that, not so much.
football is a VERY hard game to play when you no longer love it.Thats where the bitterness comes... We saw what could have been...
Yeah... that's one I've thought about asThe TE dilemma is difficult - should we cut Jonnu?
He's been the most frustrating big $ offensive FA in a long time (along with Agholor).
But, it's hard to say if it's because of rookie Mac in year 1, and stupid OC in year 2.
It's reasonable to assume BOB can get a lot more out of him, but at that contract level??
He definitely makes up for the bust with FA on aghlor and Smith...Judon is under contract for this year and next year, but a restructuring/extension should definitely come this year as his cap hits are at their highest, $17.6 million this year and $16.1 million in 2024.
I remember hearing last season something was done with his contract?Judon is under contract for this year and next year, but a restructuring/extension should definitely come this year as his cap hits are at their highest, $17.6 million this year and $16.1 million in 2024.

for hs last year here, for certain. He will always have a place in Patriots infamy because of how the tapped out on that last season, but you can't ignore his season and a half of good play. My comment was a comment on the black and white nature of how I perceived your comments. As in most things in life, there is a lot of gray in Thomas' Pats career. He cashed the checks. Fair game for criticism.

They won't pursue him... they will give Dugger a contract..Yes Please.
No issue with re-upping Dugger... they going to transition him to free safety, the role McCourty currently fills? They won't pursue him... they will give Dugger a contract..
His best year was 2019, he amassed over 1,000 yards , he's a fine player but as it was mentioned on here he's of the same caliber of guys we already have.. 3s and 4s.. the team knows they need to get a game changer....I think Chark is fine but I don’t think he’s really better than what we already have.
Yes possibly I like Dugger in that role.. he's so good up around the line as well.. he definitely is absolutely worth the new contract.. the guys awesome... I like all our safeties.. I hope we can bring back peppers... one player who's been pit of position alot as he's not a slot CB is myles Bryant.. he actually when he did au safety wasn't bad.. he's a willing tackler..No issue with re-upping Dugger... they going to transition him to free safety, the role McCourty currently fills?
Its that "possibly" which is the issue.Yes possibly
I mean about when you asked about playing D Macs role of free safety... the team is in a different place as we all know, the days of hardballing and not wanting to pay players is in a sense they don't have the leverage anymore..Its that "possibly" which is the issue.
I don't see BB making wholesale changes to the way he manages contracts and negotiations...I mean about when you asked about playing D Macs role of free safety... the team is in a different place as we all know, the days of hardballing and not wanting to pay players is in a sense they don't have the leverage anymore..
We still are a proud franchise with a great owner and amazing fan base... But we need to become the free agent destination again By paying our own players first and putting enough around Mac to win.
I absolutely agree with you!! Nick saban said something that caught my attention. I know he's in the college ranks, But he stated he needed to adapt to the game and the culture in order to be successful..I don't see BB making wholesale changes to the way he manages contracts and negotiations...
you might get a splash here and there, but the Patriots have a system that they use... While I want to bring in guys like Jesse Bates, I am not under the allusion that they will be repeating the free agent splurge of two years ago... The results were a mixed bag, with only one stand out signing... Based on those results, i can see the team focusing on one or two targets, instead of a scattershot approach...
As for retaining our own, its a good idea to do so, but what they won't do is over pay them... I think BB is still more than willing to let a player walk over money... and while we aren't a premium destination for free agents, there are only 31 other destinations, with available cap space a limiting factor...
Yes, he's lasted this long by running the 1970s and 1980s offenses and defenses. He hasn't evolved at all. In fact, he would have been a nobody if not for Brady. The great Saban caught my attention to when he emphasized that he should adapt. Maybe Belichick should do the things McVay does ! It would be a great improvement! Follow the money. Go after Ramsey and Wagner! Just like McVay did.I absolutely agree with you!! Nick saban said something that caught my attention. Needless to say he has been!! His great friend.. seems to only want to change if forced to do so.. we all know the great BB lasted this long with the organization by making the 199th pick in the 2000 draft.
We have to understand and realize that as fans.. now the spotlight is on him to win, and show his greatness by building another contender... again he's the sole reason that path was off track last season.. the problem should have been rectified after week 4... anyway..
The team needs guys like Myers he's not a #1 but he's a patriots playmaker.. they need patriots playmakers.. get open catch and move the chains... the 3rd down back I feel will get determined in camp.. whomever Dugger doesn't tackle in the backfield I guess gets it.. lol
Your right I don't see a splash signing..
I see a 2nd tier player and possibly a trade.. ( hopefully Ramsey) lol
Facts spoken!! I'll always give BB credit for his legendary coaching prowess.. however not just players couches have ego's too!!Yes, he's lasted this long by running the 1970s and 1980s offenses and defenses. Yes, the one at Central Perk had quite an ego! Imagine having to support Joey, Chandler and Ross day after day after day!Facts spoken!! I'll always give BB credit for his legendary coaching prowess.. however not just players couches have ego's too!!
